‘Jackass’ Director Jeff Tremaine Thinks Jocks Need Vengeance, Too

There’s this common notion that nerds have a miserable time in high school, but when they finally get into the real world, they can push former jocks around as the heads of all-powerful social networking start-ups. I think the idea is absurd, because most of the nerds I know work at companies with other nerds, not as the cruel task masters of local sporting good stores.

Anyway, the immense popularity of the 80s classic Revenge of the Nerds was bound to inspire a film called Revenge of the Jocks sooner or later. Now it’s sooner, because Warner Bros. is tapping Jackass director Jeff Tremaine to helm this project, with a script by Rami Cohen and Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder).

The story is about three former nerd-torturing jocks, very popular in high school, who must live as adults in a world run by nerds. Yeah, finally, the guys who kicked weaker kids asses in high school get to kick those same guys’ asses in the real world too. Revenge will be theirs. After all, comeuppance is for gaytards. ‘Men In Black 3′ Delayed Again, Aliens Laugh Triumphantly

Here they come, the Men In Black… galaxy delayers…

Looks like production has been delayed once again for director Barry Sonnenfeld‘s Men In Black III. The threequel halted filming once more to work on script issues, and after seeing Men In Black II, I believe that’s time well spent.

After a two month hiatus from December to February, the film was supposed to get back to shooting this week. That did not happen, and now the start date has been bumped back to March 28th. In the new entry into the series, Will Smith goes back in time to save a young Agent K (played by Josh Brolin) and the entire world (naturally). Perhaps the producers were planning on sending Smith back to the beginning of shooting with a copy of the finished script, to save the production a ton of money.

Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) wrote the original draft, and Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can) has been brought in to rewrite the 60s-era time travel scenes. I thought the fun of this series was watching Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith bust alien ass. Do we really want to see an Austin Powers-y version of MIB? Even though it’s in 3D, the description of the plot does not make me horny, baby.

MIB 3 is still scheduled to mind-wipe moviegoers on May 25th, 2012. (Collider)

Should Will Smith Choose ‘Men in Black 3′, ‘The City That Sailed’, or Something Not Stupid?

Will Smith is in quite the pickle. The megastar with a penchant for box office destruction has to choose between two projects that no one cares about. The first is Men in Black 3, a film that when it would finally be released would be about as much in demand as a banged up prostitute. The second is a fantasy-adventure entitled The City That Sailed which Variety describes as such:

City that Sailed revolves around a New York street magician who is unhappily separated from his young daughter. The girl, who moves to London, finds magic candles that make her wishes comes true, with unintended consequences: The island of Manhattan separates from the continent and floats toward England, bringing her dad ever closer.

So Smith kinda just has to wait around the entire film until Manhattan docks with London while his little b*tch daughter lights candles? This project is going to need David Copperfield riding in barechested on a Bengal Tiger to get my interest peaked.
