It was teased previously that Paramount is unhappy with the creative direction Darren Aronofsky took with his Bible epic Noah. Whatever problems the film might have are not present in this trailer and I applaud Aronofsky’s restraint in avoiding use of Rihanna‘s “Umbrella” when the action picks up toward the end.

The fans demanded this one — and I mean, DEMANDED — so our crack team sat and watched 20 hours of Harry Potter so you could relive the moment or two you liked. That breaks down to 8 hours of gibberish words, 4.5 hours of underage Emma Watson, 3.8 hours of gloriously finally-legal Emma Watson, and too many hours of Rupert Grint‘s face.

We give you guys too much power.

Beginning in 2008, a group of Hollywood teenagers hilariously robbed the homes of Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, and Lindsay Lohan amongst others to the tune of $3 million. Sofia Coppola‘s The Bling Ring goes inside the inner workings of this group and more importantly makes Emma Watson look hotter than usual.

The teaser itself isn’t as full-force as the trailers for Spring Breakers, but it is a more aggressive tone than Coppola’s usual work. Set to “Crown On The Ground” by Sleigh Bells, the hot teens rob, steal, and party. The Bling Ring, however, doesn’t work for me as a title. I think the film should have been called Ducky Face.

Guillermo del Toro, quickly realizing that he had nothing planned for March of 2012, quickly rectified the situation by attaching himself to a feature adaptation of the classic Beauty and the Beast. The news comes from Crazy. Stupid. Love. producer Denise Di Novi, who revealed that she had been developing an adaptation of the story with del Toro, and that Emma Watson was attached to star. So much for feeding your inner artist with a bunch of indie films after Harry Potter. Can’t say I blame her.

Guillermo del Toro’s next film is Pacific Rim, starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Charlie Day, while Watson’s next is acting opposite Logan Lerman in The Importance of Not Being A Wallflower. The timeline for Beauty and the Beast hasn’t been divulged, as the project seems to be in its infancy, but details on a project this big should be forthcoming shortly.

The post 5 Creepy Fan-Made Emma Watson Tribute Videos appeared first on Screen Junkies.

]]>
This weekend, Emma Watson’s role as Hermione Granger comes to a close with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Ten years after the release of the first film, fans from around the world will be forced to say goodbye to the characters they’ve grown to know and love.

However, after spending the past hour on YouTube looking at Emma Watson tribute videos, I think it’s safe to say that a few fans will probably have a hard time saying goodbye. In fact, based on what I’ve been seeing, I’d be shocked if at least one obsessed maniac didn’t try to capture the actress in order to keep her in his basement and slowly eat her skin. With that in mind, I present to you 5 creepy fan-made Emma Watson tribute videos. Enjoy, and “Broktoon” to all!

5. Suddenly I See – by KiwiFashionista

Suddenly I see…the reason they invented restraining orders. Seriously, matching these lyrics to a video of a grown woman might be acceptable (and by “acceptable” I mean slightly less creepy), but setting this song to images of girl who isn’t even 16 just screams “fire up the rape van and let’s go cruising!”

4. Sweet Sixteen – by emmawatsonsf

“A music video I made for Emma Watson’s birthday, since she turned 16 on April 15th, 2006. Happy birthday, Em. XP”

Translation: “It’s your birthday, and I long to be reborn into your flesh.” Seriously, who wouldn’t be creeped out by birthday wishes from a stranger? Given half a chance, this person would skin Emma Watson alive. Keep an eye on your house pets, Emma.

3. Lunch with Mystery Man – by portolux

This video is only 15 seconds long, but it manages to pack in at least ten minutes worth of creepiness. In case you can’t tell from the title, it’s just some still images of Emma Watson having a private lunch with a friend. Normally, this would be called stalking, but since the pictures are set to pop music, I guess that makes it OK. I can’t wait to see the follow-up video, “Emma Watson defecates on my toilet cam,” set to the soothing sounds of Joss Stone.

2. ‘Requiem’ – by baudinello

When I started this article, I was under the false impression that creating a montage of Emma Watson photos set to cheesy pop songs was kind of creepy. How wrong I was. The people who do that sort of thing seem well adjusted compared to baudinello, a YouTube user who made an Emma Watson tribute video using Mozart’s The Requiem Mass as the background music. After all, nothing says “I’m your biggest fan and I love your movies” like funeral music. That’s not disturbing in the least.

1. I love you more with every breathe i take – by Emmaurthe1

In a world as cynical as ours, it’s nice to see someone who is willing to put it all on the line for love. At least it would be nice, if that person wasn’t in love with a mediocre actress who he will never even meet. But don’t tell that to Emmaurthe1*. Based on the scrolling text he’s inserted into this tribute video, Emma Watson is all he ever wanted, he will love her for forever and a day, and to top it all off, he is willing to die for her. Don’t beleive me? Skip to the 1:30 mark, and you’ll see the following quote…

I would die for you Emma just to prove my love to you…

Seriously, would anyone care to wager on how many Harry Potter Lego sets this guy has sexually violated? Sweet Jesus, someone reach out to him before Emma Watson’s head ends up getting the Se7en treatment.

*I’m assuming that Emmaurthe1 is a guy. Sorry for being so ‘hetro-normative.’

I’ve been accused of having no heart.  Don’t get me wrong.  I’m famous for my love of puppies and kittens.  I think it’s wonderful that Arwen and Aragorn got together in The Lord of the Rings, even though she gave up her immortal life for him.  I think My Little Pony toys are just adorable.  I have a heart.  I just don’t cry at movies.

Last night I saw an early screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.  The streak is broken.  I cried.  I hate admitting that, but it’s true.  I know everyone has something to say about the end of this series, but I’m going to have to weigh in here.  Harry needs to know what a big deal this is for me.  No, I’m not crazy.  Doesn’t he feel a little real to you too?

Dear Harry,

I’m really not alright with this parting of the ways.  I’ll never be alright with it.  You’ve been a part of my life for so many years now.  I might have been too old to wait for an owl when I turned eleven like so many of my friends, but believe me, I would have.

Your story struck me for so many reasons.  I never got over that little spark of hope that there really was magic in the world, even if we couldn’t see it.  That maybe, if I just opened my eyes a little wider, I’d see something amazing.

I think every little kid (and quite a few adults) hoped that someone would swoop down and pull them out of their misery/everyday life/ordinary existence and tell them that they were special.  That all the crap they went through (and would continue to go through) meant something.  In the absence of a real half giant on a motorcycle coming to swoop us up and away to Hogwarts, we lived vicariously through you.

Second 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Trailer

What meant even more was that it never really did work out as planned.  It wasn’t just the sweet story from the first book/film.  I mean, your parents died saving you, but in the end, it all could have been a magical beginning to a lovely, quiet life of magical cooking and traveling through the Floo network instead of being stuck in traffic.  But no one pulls punches in real life and no one did here either.  Your story got darker and darker.  Your life got harder and more complex.  The villains were real and people you loved died.  Now, after living through your discovery that there was more to life than you knew as a little kid, we live through your discovery of mortality and pain, and what it’s like to grow up.  In a very magical and dramatic way, of course, but if you think about it, how different was it?  We all go through wonder, then disillusionment.  We just saw it amplified up on the big screen.

In a way, I think that’s why stories like yours are so well loved.  Everyone has to be built up and cut down and then build themselves back up again to move forward in life.  But to each person, it feels far more dramatic and painful…and sometimes joyful than it looks to the outside world.  Inside everyone’s head, they’re saying, ”What I just went through…yes, I know you’ve dealt with it to, but LOOK!  It’s huge for me.  Don’t you get it?”  So when we get to see you battle evil for a real cause and fall in love and lose people so dramatically, so magically, we are looking at our own battles.  You’re living them as loudly as we feel them.  Do you know what I mean?

Last night, when I watched the epilogue play out on the silver screen, it really hit home.  Seeing those who survived move on and age and realize they’ll never be as innocent as the first day they boarded the train to Hogwarts at platform 9 3/4 was like the day I visited my old elementary school.  The chairs looked so small.  The teachers so old.  There was such a sweet sadness there.  It’s a time that can never be captured again.  I think that’s why I finally shed tears at a film.  Because the phenomenon that was Harry Potter is over.  I’ll never discover the next chapter.  Your story has been told.  I’ll never hear the haunting notes of the score begin another leg of your journey.  I’ll never get to say, ”I can’t wait to see how they do that,” or hear the binding crack as I open a new book, or sit back in my theater seat and repeatedly tap my husband’s arm, unable to contain my excitement about what was about to be shown on screen.

I feel a little older today, Harry.  And a little sadder.  I’ll miss you.  Tell Ginny I said hi.

Love,

Jenna

God bless the kids who can follow this whole story. The books have several thousand pages more mythology than Lord of the Rings, and the movies have 6-7 hours more than even the extended cuts. The final Harry Potter movie had more action so I liked it. The real fans will love it.

Still looking for the final horcruxes, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) return to Hogwarts. The school defends itself against the final attack of Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) while Harry searches for the last piece of his backstory that will reveal how to finally kill his nemesis.

Second 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Trailer

The siege of Hogwarts gives Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II real momentum. The forces of evil wizards keep progressing closer as the students fortify themselves. This film’s flying broom chase is more thrilling than any game of Quidditch before. There’s some stellar dragon action too, and it’s hardcore. He fries some goblins.

The character moments are effective too. Snape’s (Alan Rickman) final action, Professor McGonagall’s (Maggie Smith) defense of the students, Harry’s final face-off against Draco (Tom Felton) all have serious dramatic weight. The kisses feel genuinely romantic, although a few supporting characters who I didn’t know get killed. That will upset the true fans more than me.

2 photosNew 'Harry Potter' Stills Feature Impressive Chair Fort

I still zone out when Dumbledore’s brother (Ciaran Hinds) starts explaining but that’s minimal in the finale. It’s almost a good thing to have a lousy Deathly Hallows Part I to get all the explaining out of the way, and leave all the good parts for kick-ass Part II.

The visual effects seem to be at their peak. Maybe the 3D hides the seams, but the stone guards, the light blasts attacking the Hogwarts shield and the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw (Kelly Macdonald) all look fully ingrained in the scene and believable.

The epilogue totally works. It’s heartwarming, and the age makeup is so minimal it looks more like kids pretending, which fits the denouement of the child wizard franchise. I can’t wait to have kids and show them all eight movies. They’ll ask me questions and I’ll be like, “I don’t know, you’re watching the same movie as me.” I’ll show them Labyrinth and Neverending Story first, but then the eight Harry Potters.

Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks Of Being A Wallflower will at long last give us our first chance to see Emma Watson not act against a green screen. Starring Logan Lerman, the story centers around a  teen who finds himself through drugs and sex and by writing letters to an anonymous recipient. The movie co-stars Mae Whitman, Nina Dobrev Paul Rudd, and Johnny Simmons. Thanks to Lerman’s Twitter, we now know what the top half of Emma Watson’s head will look like in the movie.

Not sure what the rest of her body will look like. It could be a gorilla suit or a hot chick. Only time will tell. (ONTD)

Attention, muggles. Time to grab yourself a bag of disgusting magical jellybeans and watch the brand new trailer for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2: Revenge of the Hallows. This is the very last Harry Potter movie ever, and it’s the one where everybody dies, especially all the good guy characters you’ve come to love all these years, so you’ve gotta watch. A higher quality version from Apple is due later tonight.

Directed by David Yates, it’s the last time Daniel Radcliffe plays Potter before going off and making less interesting movies. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are back as Potter’s posse of Hermione Granger and Ron “Bonghead” Weasely, along with Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter.

Judging by the trailer, this could be the darkest, most explodiest of the Potter movies. Oh man, a lot of Harry Potter’s friends have been killed at this point, and Voldemort is not afraid to push that button. On the other hand, Harry Potter isn’t afraid of a little cliff-diving, so I guess good and evil really do balance each other out.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 rides into theaters on a Quidditch-regulation broomstick on July 15, 2011.

Summit Entertainment’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower is supposed to ease some of the pain of the Twilight series coming to an end. And in service of that, many young up-and-coming thespians are being cast in this thing, like the previously signed Emma Watson and Mae Whitman (yes, her). Now, Nina Dobrev of the alleged television series “The Vampire Diaries” is cast in it as well, along with fresh up-and-coming sta Paul Rudd. I hope this is finally Rudd’s big break, I love that guy!

Dobrev, in case you were wondering, is playing the role of “Candace,” which I assume means something to those who have read the book. Which, if you haven’t, you better hurry up and do before it’s too embarrassing to be seen with in public. (Deadline)

It’s all coming to a magical, fiery end this July in 3D. Join Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes and all the Hogwarts wizards as they die miserable deaths. However, the worst death of all is reserved for Harry Po– ah, oh, er… I’ve said too much.

Bonus: Below is a new image from the film. Harry Potter loves bridge-standing. (Collider)

Try to resist the urge to find the closest nerd and noogie him until he begs for mercy, because Harry Potter’s Emma Watson is reportedly the number one candidate for the job of costarring in Incarceron with Twilight‘s Taylor Lautner. The movie, in spite of its title, is not a tween reboot of the MSNBC series “Lockup.” Instead, it follows Lautner’s character, who:

“has lived his entire life in Incarceron, a savage, futuristic prison society. He meets the daughter of the warden, who is trapped in her own prison, a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like the 17th Century. She knows nothing of Incarceron except that it exists. She and Finn simultaneously find a crystal key that allows them to communicate and hatch an escape plan for Finn.”

Cool? The movie has a script but no director yet, maybe because no one is eager to suffer through the millions of teenager screams that would accompany such a job. (via The Playlist)

Emma Watson is running around with fake-Harry Potter Percy Jackson. Untrustworthy witch!

Watson signed on to star opposite Logan Lerman in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, an adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s heavily-banned novel. The John Malkovich-produced film had a hard time finding a home but now there’s news that Summit will pick it up with plans for shooting to begin this June.

In the film, Lerman will star as an outcast who mails anonymous letters to strangers. Watson will play one of two classmates who befriend him. The other will be played by an awkward-looking underaged red-haired boy who grown women in my age group have a sexual attraction to for some reason. You know who you are. (Vulture)

Not entirely sure what is happening in these pictures but it looks like Harry is taking a moment to show Hermione the Face Time app on his iPhone. That’s cool and all, I guess, but teenagers don’t really need such sophisticated devices. Especially ones who should be in the middle on fighting a war for the survival of the human race. I blame television. (via Bleeding Cool)

Taylor Lautner has recently signed on to star in eight hundred and forty seven upcoming films, including Incarceron, a strange but interesting sounding young adult lit adaptation about Lautner romancing the daughter of a warden on a prison planet. Based on a popular YA novel by Catherine Fisher, the film is set up at Fox 2000, and three very high profile young actresses are being eyed to play opposite the walking six pack Lautner. Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Lively, and Emma Watson are all in contention for roles in the project, however there will have to be more in it for them than just a paycheck and the opportunity to act opposite a Twilight star, because all three of their careers are taking off at the moment.

In addition to Incarceron, Lautner has also recently attached himself to an untitled spy thriller at New Regency that’s being touted as a youth oriented Bourne Identity. The film is said to be based on the life of Julal Aviv, the Israeli-America security consultant. Lautner’s got a difficult life these days, what with splitting his time between beautiful women and spy heroics has to be tiring. Let’s hope he finds some time to relax with his favorite hobby: running shirtless through woods in cutoff denim shorts. (The Playlist)

We already know that Harry Potter fans really like Harry Potter. But there’s at least one guy who rrreeeaaalllyyy likes it. A South Carolina man was enjoying a screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows so much so that he pleasured himself in the theater. Which I guess is frowned upon maybe.

The South Carolina man, 39, was arrested yesterday afternoon at Sea Turtle Cinemas after Bluffton Police Department officers responded to a 911 call about Ofner’s alleged indecent exposure. Using the projection booth as an observation post (as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” unspooled nearby), cops spotted Ofner in the act.

Ofner, seated in the theater’s back row, was then arrested for his alleged X-rated behavior during the PG-13 movie. He was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center.

I would just like to say how very sorr I am. I should have just waited for the Blu-Ray. (The Smoking Gun)

Whether you love the Harry Potter films or think the whole series is a bloated Hollywood cash cow with no redeeming cinematic value, it’s difficult to deny that when Emma Watson steps on screen, the entire production gets a little bit better. No, she doesn’t make Daniel Radcliffe stop delivering his lines like a pissed off teenage girl (she doesn’t actually have magical powers after all), but she does manage to brighten the hell out of any scene through sheer force of hotness.

A word from Emma: “I get sent Bibles. I have a collection of about 20 in my room. People think I need to be guided.”

I’ve never been a huge Harry Potter fan. Nothing in the books or movies seems as creative to me as Labyrinth or The Neverending Story. Prisoner of Azkaban was a good movie and Goblet of Fire had the magic tournament. Usually as long as there’s enough to look at, I can get by. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 is the worst of all the Harry Potter movies. This is the most bored I’ve been watching one.

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) go on the run because Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) is sending dark smoke clouds after them. Well, after Harry. Teleporting between London and various forests, their relationships get strained and they learn more about the backstory between Harry and Voldemort.

At this point, the mythology has gotten so dense that there’s really no room for a casual viewer. That means it’ll be great for the die hards. You guys probably had to wait around while the other movies caught all us laymen up. Now you can just dive hardcore into the horcruxes and Sword of Gryffindor.

There are still some pretty scenes to look at, but I have no idea what was going on in this film. Harry has to find the sword to destroy all the horcruxes. That’s about all I picked up. The trio goes to different characters to find more information. They encounter some new characters who cause trouble. I don’t know what they were talking about with any of them.

The deluminator is a cool idea. Ron uses that once or twice. The cloned Harrys look good. There’s action but no excitement. A freeway chase is just a collection of effects. A wand battle in a diner is sort of like a gunfight, and Hermione is the Chow Yun-Fat role, but it’s short. It doesn’t take long to cast a spell against someone.

Now there’s lots of handheld camera, so even the Harry Potter series copied that. It still looks like the Harry Potter world with overcast light and a foresty color scheme, even without the Hogwarts castle. You do get to see some of the old characters again, like Wormtail (Timothy Spall) and Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) so there’s a throwback.

It’s still a LOT of talking though. The film opens with Voldemort’s sinister council talking about their plans. It’s a long exposition scene. A character’s death isn’t even shown. It’s only spoken about, since presumably Harry didn’t witness it. That may be the script consolidating the story, but it seems like something I remember reading in the earlier Rowling books. She talks about things instead of showing them. The movies just represent that.

Ron’s frustrations sort of represent me. He gives voice to the repetitive nature of the series, but it barely affects the story. It’s like Rowling knows she’s supposed to include themes of jealousy, insecurity and betrayal, but she doesn’t do anything with them. It’s just now he’s mad, and then they talk about it, and then they talk about something else.

Maybe it’s just not cute anymore because they’re so grown up, or maybe the plot has finally collapsed on the story. I’m certainly not going to read any more of them (I stopped after Goblet of Fire) but maybe someone who did read them can explain it to me. And I’m sure you won’t hold back.

UPDATE: Check out new pics and a clip from the film!

There’s probably not much news about the Harry Potter films. If you’ve read the books, that’s probably going to be in the movie. But then, maybe you’re one of those who complain they didn’t film every single word of the book, so you want to manage your expectations. Well, Gemma Jones, who plays Madame Pomfrey, told us a little about the big magic battle in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II.

“I did have to do a lot on fighting with my wand,” she said while promoting the Woody Allen comedy You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. “At my age and station it was a very good workout. I’m fighting the Death Eaters with my wand so I had a good time.”

Madame Pomfrey is a small role, but at least you know she’s there in the end. She also appeared in Chamber of Secrets and Half-Blood Prince, so by the end she wanted to look after the kids, as they’re leaving school as it were.

“Well, I talked to Emma and Daniel on this last film because I was kind of maternally concerned for them because it’s such a huge experience and going to come to an end. I wasn’t there on the last day of the last shot but I think they were finding it very hard to take in that it was coming to an end. I hope they’ll be okay.”

They should be fine. Radcliffe’s become a pin-up boy for the ladies and Watson’s going to be a super genius in school. Otherwise, Jones just had tea with her fellow thespians in between massive takes on the set.

“It couldn’t be more different than having done this film with Woody but a wonderful repertory company of British actors in those films and a lot of people I know. Hell of amount of hanging about because the setups are so huge, so a lot of that was spent in each other’s trailers having a jolly good gossip and a very nice time. It’s like a huge juggernaut and military campaign getting it off the ground every day on set.

Harry Potter
concludes with Part II of The Deathly Hallows on July 15 next year, with Part I this November 19.
