Fox Picks Up ‘Scavengers’, Gives It To A Guy Named Thor

In the Venn diagram of “Screen Junkies fans” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans,” there is so much overlap that it pretty much just looks like one circle, so this news is sure to be a real gamechanger for a lot of you. 20th Century Fox has picked up Scavengers, an adventure film in the vein of Goonies, from screenwriter Chris Baldi, with Diary of a Wimpy Kid director Thor Freudenthal attached to direct.

Scavengers tells the story of three grow brothers who have fallen out of touch with each other, but are reunited after their adventurer father dies and are forced to go on a scavenger hunt to collect their inheritance. Kind of a dick move by dad, having them running around like pirates during the grieving process, but something tells me that they’ll be a little richer for having gone on the journey.

Scavengers will be produced by Shawn Levy, so if you’re thinking A Night at the Museum, you’re probably on the right track as well. PleasenoBenStiller. (Deadline)

‘Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2′ Poops In Church

It’s been about a year since the first Diary Of A Wimpy Kid was released, and Fox isn’t letting up on divulging the wimpiness of this kid. The trailer opens with jokes about pooping your pants in church. Great. Religious extremists are going to have a field day with this one. Looks like we’ve got another Passion Of The Christ on our hands.

In Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules, the little geek is tormented by a young Jimmy Fallon clone named Rodrick. And man, that Rodrick DOES rule. With his tussled hair, one-handed folding technique, extreme driving, and you know he’s hiding pot somewhere in that wimpy household. When Steve Zahn finds it, Rodrick will play it off. “Just holding it for a friend, Dad. Now can I get back to practicing my fingering?” For the guitar, of course, you guys.

‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ Actress Rachael Harris

Rachael Harris has made guest appearances in a ton of TV shows, including “Reno 911” and”The Sarah Silverman Program.” She also played Ed Helms‘ bitchy wife in The Hangover. She’s funny, cute, and has a sexy librarian thing going on when she wears glasses.

A word from Rachael: “Maybe because I’m an improviser and I was ready for anything that he was going to bring.”

And she rolls with the punches. What more could you ask for? I’m pretending she’s talking about gettin’ freaky, and not acting.
