Those pictures you wanted of David Arquette in a loincloth are here.

First Carrot Top. Then Dave Chappelle. And now, David Arquette. When we last heard from the Scream star, he was dealing with a very public divorce by getting drunk and nailing hot young ass. Since then he’s sobered up and hit the gym. Arquette tweeted the below photo from the Detroit set of his upcoming post-apocalyptic adventure movie, Orion.

We can glean two things from this photo. 1) Detroit really looks like a hell hole. 2) What’s up, Zardoz?

(via THR)

14% of them are played by Frank Langella.

In the midst of sexual harassment allegations and a newly alleged affair, pizza czar Herman Cain is reassessing whether or not he’ll remain in the race. The determining factors, according to Cain, are the toll the scandals have taken on his family, and whether or not he still has the support or if his constituents, some of whom have noticed he’s a shady nutbar. To make matters worse, he shares a name with the bad cyborg from Robocop 2.

No matter what happens, Cain can take solace in knowing he wasn’t quite as bad as the disgraced movie politicians listed below… as far as we know.

Greg Stillson – The Dead Zone

When clairvoyant weirdo Johnny Smith shakes hands with U.S. Senatorial candidate Greg Stillson, he gets a chilling view of the future. Stillson will go on to become President of the United States and later President of Blowing Shit Up With Nuclear Bombs. After the vision, it becomes clear to Smith that he must assassinate him. He makes his attempt at a rally, but misses. However, a spooked Stillson shows his true colors by grabbing a nearby baby to use as a human shield. That’s worse than 1000 Howard Deans.

Adam Sutler – V For Vendetta

If you’re going to head an ultra-Right Wing fascist regime, the last thing you need is a vigilante rising up to challenge you. That’s exactly what happens to Adam Sutler. He creates a police state by violently removing minorities, gays, non-Christians, and the handicapped from the UK. In the end, he is betrayed and murdered in front of his nemesis. It’s a fitting end. Otherwise he’d be reaping the paycheck from Viagra sponsorships.

Michigan needs to figure out they shit. First, the Mayor of Detroit shot down the notion of a RoboCop statue (and failed), and now on a state level, Governor Rick Snyder has chased away The Avengers and more films could follow.

Hollywood has visited the state recently with the productions for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Real Steel, Red Dawn, and Machine Gun Preacher starring Gerard Butler. With Snyder’s new budget plan, tax incentives will be essentially done away with completely.

“The Avengers” decision is an early – and high-profile – example of incentive supporters’ fears becoming reality.

“They were all set to come here,” said Chris Baum of Film Detroit, a division of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. When producers couldn’t get confirmation that they would still qualify for the incentives, they decided to pull out of the state, Baum said.

Tom Moisides got his call on Saturday morning: His services as a location scout for “The Avengers” would no longer be needed.

That’s a shame. A production as large as The Avengers coming to town could really help boost the local economy and help Detroit with its current campaign to change its image. Also, it already looks like the Hulk showed up and beat the shit out of everything. They wouldn’t have even needed to hire an Art Department.
Though Mayor Dave Bing shot down the suggestion that the city could boost tourism by building a statue honoring the mechanized flatfoot, citizens of Detroit are hoping they can raise the monument themselves.

It looks like Robocop really is Detroit‘s favorite son. Though Mayor Dave Bing shot down the suggestion that the city could boost tourism by building a statue honoring the mechanized flatfoot, citizens of Detroit are hoping they can raise the monument themselves.

A group of sci-fi fans, artists, and business leaders have pledged they will raise the $80,000 needed for the statue with hopes to erect it at the outdoor media center Imagination Station. Supporters have started the Build a Statue of Robocop in Detroit Facebook page, created the website DetroitNeedsRobocop.com, as well as a Kickstarter campaign.

How serious are the supporters, though? Is this something they truly want or are they blinded by the kitsch appeal? I would say they are because $80,000 seems really steep. You could probably pay Peter Weller half of that to show up in costume and hang around. Or if money is even tighter than that, you can definitely get the guy from Robocop 3. (Detroit Free Press)

Detroit has had its fair share of tough times, but this news is especially tough to report. Sadly, the Motor City will not be getting a statue honoring their protector, Robocop.

Detroit has had its fair share of tough times, but this news is especially tough to report. If there are any children in the room, please wrap a band of duct tape across their ears and eyes. Or ask them to leave if you’re too lazy to go find the duct tape.

Sadly, the Motor City will not be getting a statue honoring their favorite son, Robocop. In response to a tweet suggesting the city erect a statue of the robotic cop a la Philadelphia‘s Rocky Balboa, Detroit mayor Dave Bing quickly shot down the suggestion with his own tweet, “There are not any plans to erect a statue to Robocop. Thank you for the suggestion.”

What a bummer. He hardly even considered it. I guess we’ll just have to depend on the Internet to create a Robocop statue out of Legos. It’s bound to happen if it hasn’t already. (Jalopnik)
