Gillian Anderson isn’t wasting any time. Just as news breaks that she’s split from her boyfriend of six years, Mark Griffiths, CDL has learned that she’s living with her X Files co-star David Duchovny in Los Angeles. 

A source exclusively told CDL that David and Gillian have been in a serious relationship for some time now and she and her children are shacking up with the Californication actor.

I don’t remember “X-Files” being so breezy.

Dakota Johnson, the hot girl who didn’t realize she slept with the Napster guy in The Social Network, has been cast in three movies:

- She’s currently filming Goats, which is directed by Christopher Neil and stars David Duchovny. It’s about a teen from Tuscon who leaves home to go to an East Coast prep school. Johnson will play: some character.

- From there, Johnson will act in Five Year Engagement, which is directed by Nicholas Stoller, produced by Judd Apatow and stars Jason Segel. It’s about a newlywed couple who go through ups and downs. Johnson will play: one of the characters in the movie.

- Finally, Johnson will join the cast of 21 Jump Street, which is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and stars Jonah Hill. It’s about young-looking cops who go undercover as teens, in a remake of the 80s TV drama. Johnson will play: a girl rock star who gets recruited by Secret NASA to fight aliens. Okay, ya got me. She’s playing some other kind of character entirely. (Variety)

“I really enjoyed the arc with Carla [Gugino] this year because she became an actual presence for Hank and not just a dalliance,” Duchovny said. “This was the first time that anybody but Karen really made an impression on him. That was an interesting thing to play and then we did an episode where because Carla’s character and my character get involved, she decides that she needs to get me another lawyer.”

The conflict of interest leads to comedy. “So she tries to give me to her boss and I have to go golfing with the boss. I think one of my favorite scenes is out there on the course this year. I really enjoy the physical comedy whenever I can do it. I asked [series creator] Tom [Kapinos] for that. Try to make me dance, get me into a fight, something.”

On trial for statutory rape for sleeping with a then 16-year-old Mia (Madeline Zima), Hank does profess he did not know her age. However, Duchovny acknowledges that he should still face responsibility for his negligence.

“He says that and I think it’s a legitimate point when you look at the person. For sure, he didn’t do his due diligence maybe but I guess it’s understandable in terms of a visual. So yeah, he does say that but he also recognizes that that’s not enough.”

Meanwhile, his daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin) lashes out this season. “I think this season Becca steps out of the shadow of her parents and into the shadow of her peers,” Martin said. “She gets involved with drugs and rock and roll. She never really becomes her own person, but I hope to see her eventually forge into a strong character separate from her parents and her friends.”

Californication airs Sunday nights on Showtime.

The cable channel also announced that they somehow intend to make baseball less boring behind the scenes with the production of an untitled series that follows the San Fransisco Giants in their quest to defend their World Series title. Showtime will be teaming up with MLB Productions in what looks to be a Hard Knocks-type series, showing what goes on in the clubhouse. A safe guess: hamburgers and chewing tabacco.

Lastly, Showtime gave three premiere dates for new seasons of Nurse Jackie (March 28), The United States of Tara (March 28 as well), and their new series The Borgias (April 3) which stars Jeremy Irons as the head of a renaissance-era crime family. If they need a Christopher Columbus character, we’re pretty sure that Gerard Depardieu is available. (Deadline)

Especially interesting is the casting of Will Arnett, who really seems to be blowin’ up after the beloved”Arrested Development.” Perhaps his being cast in Goats means we’ll get to see him add “goat” to his dance repertoire, which currently consists of “chicken.” (IndieWire)

Spoiler alert: If you want the graphic debauchery of “Californication” season four to be a complete surprise, then don’t read this review. However, if some of the dedicated “Californication” viewers require a preview of Hank Moody’s debaucherous new shenanigans, I provide a detailed account of the upcoming season premiere.

I’ve actually lost track of “Californication.” I respect the show for being unapologetically sexual, but I found the attitude too unpleasant to subject myself too. Hank (David Duchovny) is so disinterested and aloof, no matter how clever he is I just want to tell him to stop and enjoy doing a Scientologist who vomits on a painting. But for folks who crave Hank’s attitude, season four doesn’t let up.

The season premiere picks up with Hank getting out of jail. He can’t go home to Karen (Natascha McElhone) and Marcy (Pamela Adlon) won’t let Charlie (Evan Handler) bring him home. So Hank can just roam L.A. dirty and disheveled.

First Hank and Charlie visit a bookstore where he’s been exposed, thanks to the internet, as the true author of Mia’s (Madeline Zima) book, “F***ing and Punching.” He actually meets an admirer jealous of his promiscuous lifestyle, particularly that he had a go with Mia herself.

Hank meets his lawyer Abby (Carla Gugino) and calls her a sellout in a typically clever way. His record of assault will be a problem, and by the end of the season premiere the show finally calls Hank on sleeping with a minor. It seems Gugino only has legalese and morality speeches to give in her first few episodes.

At a Hollywood meeting, Hank meets Sasha Bingham (Addison Timlin), the mega star who wants to play Mia in the movie of F***ing and Punching. She shows her breasts in the meeting to prove she’ll do nudity, and offers Hank the job to rewrite the script. So Hank can finish the script that was adapted from his own book which was stolen by Mia.

In a typically witty banter, Hank won’t tell Charlie just how many women he’s slept with, because information like that could destroy a monogamous man’s ego. However, Charlie wants to enjoy more numbers now that he’s getting divorced. Hank doesn’t exactly try to stop him.

In typical “Californication” fashion, Hank takes a meeting with Sasha where she seduces him and re-enacts the famous punch. By this point, Hank still hasn’t showered from jail and he’s still having wild experiences that he won’t enjoy. I believe it too. We see guys like that all the time. At least we get to see more Sasha.

I scanned through more episodes from this season to see what other graphic sex is in store: More Sasha in episodes 2 and 6; Charlie’s #13 riding him in episode 2, in ep. 3 Charlie’s latest conquest suggesting manscaping after a hairy blowjob, then texting while he doggie styles her, an episode 4 orgy in a film financier’s mansion and Charlie’s manscaping accident in episode 5. So a lot of Charlie.

“Californication” returns January 9th at 9PM EST on Showtime.
