The director will helm an untitled space adventure from the screenwriter of 'Doom' and 'The Expendables'. Sci-fi fans are... skeptical.

Thanks a lot, America! You made the aliens-are-coming movie Battle: LA number one this weekend, and that’s why 20th Century Fox bought an as-yet-untitled sci-fi film written by David Callaham (Doom, The Expendables), and directed by McG (Sugar Ray music videos, Charlie’s Angels). Details are vague so far, but we can probably expect a high gloss factor and laughable dialogue. McG is not an untalented man, but as far as sci-fi is concerned, he basically took the Terminator franchise, lit it on fire, pissed on it, and buried it in the (post apocalyptic) desert. Expect this new film to be of similar caliber, although you can count on Christian Bale not being around to scream at people this time. (Deadline)
