R.I.P.D., which stands for “Rest in Peace Department,” is about dead cops who now patrol the underworld, a slightly harsher beat than Detroit. Galifianakis would play Neal Moritz, a gunslinger who’s been working the dead shift for hundreds of years, whereas Reynolds’ character, Nick Cruz, was recently killed and is out for revenge. Though I’m more burned out on Reynolds in superhero roles than I’m sure Neal Moritz is with the underworld, I’d like to see more Zach Galifianakis in general. He can weird me out in any project he chooses.

Universal wants to start shooting this summer. Meanwhile, Galifianakis can be seen later this year in The Hangover Part Deux and The Muppets. Meanwhile, I hear Reynolds is set to star as all the Avengers. (Collider)

Do you like mobsters? Do you like zombies? Do you like computer animation? If so, you’ll probably love The Goon, a new animated film based on the Dark Horse comic. The film follows the exploits of a mob enforcer and his sidekick as they navigate through a world filled with the supernatural.

Clancy Brown voices The Goon, and Paul Giamatti takes on the roll of his sidekick Franky in this David Fincher produced film. At this point, the director still remains a mystery. Perhaps I’ll ask Giamatti and Fincher about it personally at their upcoming Comic-Con panel. Oh wait, I’m not going because no one thought to invite the overnight guy. (Empire)
