While his movies are being remade left and right (except for Vampires), John Carpenter is only looking forward. The horror great has signed on to direct an adaptation of the comic book Darkchylde. The story follows a girl named Ariel Chylde who often transforms into the monsters of her nightmares.
The film has been in the works for some time and now is gaining traction. WETA created a test video to present how a Darkchylde film should look and feel. It's a pretty cool concept and with Carpenter at the helm, there's room to really push the special effects envelope. Could be awesome. Or it could turn out like Vampires. (/Film)
Check out the transformation test footage after the jump...

EW has just turned doctors' waiting rooms into Geek Heaven by adorning their cover with the first picture of Ryan Reynolds suited up as Green Lantern (and apparently there's a New Buffy as well). As previously discussed in comic shops and secondhand Toyotas, the Lantern's suit is 100% computer-generated. Much like the girlfriend you met online but have never seen face-to-face because of her numerous modeling commitments. Do you guys like it? To me, it looks a little too Photoshop-y. To illustrate that point, I present Exhibit B.Not that far off, right?

And Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.Kilowog, the Guardians, Oa…all breathtaking. The age of Green Lantern is upon us!!He then went on to tweet:Found plastic beads in my stool this morning. Bourbon Street is CRAZY, folks! In case you were unaware, Blake Lively is also starring in the Martin Campbell directed Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds is doing something in it too. Something less attractive than Blake Lively.
