Ponzi schemes are hot right now, but did you ever stop to think about why it’s called a “Ponzi scheme”? History lesson: They’re named after Charles Ponzi, an Italian immigrant who bilked millions of dollars from investors in the 1920s. Now you can learn this lesson all over again and in two hours time, thanks to Milos Forman, director of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Amadeus, and not much recently – the man is almost 80 years old, after all.

The script is by Christopher Weekes, based on the book Ponzi’s Scheme: The True Story of a Financial Legend by Mitchell Zuckoff. Perhaps as a way to raise funds to make the movie, the filmmakers could take money from investors, using money from other investors to pay them back without actually investing any of the money at the promised rate of return. That might be too obvious, though. (Variety)
