Now Nicolas Cage Is NOT Lending His Veneer Intellectual Group To ‘The Expendables 3′

We’ve all been made to look as fools. FOOLS!

On Monday, Sylvester Stallone CLEARLY stated in an unintelligible Facebook post that, “We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group.” However, now Stallone tells Deadline that he “has no knowledge of Nicolas Cage joining Expendables 3.” Humnha-wha?!

What is going on with Sylvester Stallone? Just days ago he wrote in plain English a string of words that nearly made sense, only to pull the rug out from beneath us all. You can’t play with us like that, Sly. It’s bullying and it’s mean. To make up for this, I demand that an Expendables spin-off starring Nicolas Cage in multiple roles a la Adaptation. The technology exists! And if he’s not willing, can we take his face off and put it on another actor? That technology exists too!

The Jolie-Pitt Kids Cast Alongside Angelina In ‘Maleficent’ Somehow

Though you’d think she be sensitive about putting young children from third world countries to work, Angelina Jolie has secured roles for her adopted children Pax and Zahara in Maleficent. They’ll join their sister, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt in the villian-centric take on the tale of Sleeping Beauty in small, non-speaking roles. Shiloh also had an opportunity to appear in the film but reportedly was ”bored and not in the mood during the day her part was supposed to happen.”

Looks like there’s a Lohan in every family. (Us)

‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Finnick Casting Rumors Are Hogwash

After I devoured The Hunger Games series over a long weekend this past winter, I was hoping that producers would consider switching the character Finnick Odair up a bit for the Catching Fire adaptation. If they’re willing to turn him into a guy in just kinda okay shape with a bad shoulder who wears a pedometer, I’d be a shoe-in. Sadly these last few days it seemed like they weren’t going that route.

The Internet has been totes OMG about rumors that Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer, and Garrett Hedlund were the frontrunners to be cast in the sequel. The LA Times caught up with producer Nina Jacobson who poo-pooed this speculation.

“That’s the thing that’s crazy — people are like way ahead of where we are. We’ve not narrowed things down by any means. It’s funny to see how things can take on a life of their own.”

Good. So I’m still in this thing. Time to re-up at Crunch and learn to swim.

Vera Farmiga, Keri Russell, Minnie Driver & Will Arnett Latest Bunch of ‘Goats’

The upcoming adaptation of Mark Jude Poirier’s 2000 novel Goats has been gestating for a while now, but the movie finally has what appears to be an actual cast apart from already-attached David Duchovny. Despite the title, it has been confirmed that Goats is indeed not the sequel to last year’s documentary Babies, but about goats instead of babies. Actually, the movie is about a teenager to be played by Graham Phillips who attends the prep school that his father attended. Here the teenager is lucky enough to meet a father-surrogate character played by David Duchovny whose name is “Goat Man” for some reason. Oh, think of how much better the world would be if every young man had a father figure played by David Duchovny who goes by the name of “Goat Man.” Most of us had to settle for father figures played by Jim Breuer (he of stoner movie fame), who insisted we call him “Goat Boy.” Man, “goat” is a funny word, isn’t it? Goats!

Especially interesting is the casting of Will Arnett, who really seems to be blowin’ up after the beloved”Arrested Development.” Perhaps his being cast in Goats means we’ll get to see him add “goat” to his dance repertoire, which currently consists of “chicken.” (IndieWire)

Paramount Seeking Young Unknowns For ‘Super Eight.’ Probably.

Paramount Pictures sent out a bizarre casting call that essentially says, "Feed us your children!! RAAWWRRRR" Or something along those lines. Many believe the mysterious casting notice is for JJ Abrams‘s homage to Spielberg and money, Super 8. The open notice is seeking 13 and 14 year old boys and girls with no previous acting experience and the casting sides feature a few early Spielbergian hallmarks. No director, producer, or film title are listed. From Paramount:

Seeking 13-14 year old Boys & Girls for the lead roles in a new Paramount feature film. No previous acting experience is necessary, but must have great energy and a wonderful sense of humor and thoughtfulness.

JOSH: Male 13-14. Josh is cute, but could be on the scrawny side – definitely not the school jock. Loveable, empathetic, smart and interesting. Must have a great sense of humor. Should have a Midwestern feel.

COLLIN: Male 13-14. Slightly, or more than slightly, overweight. Collin is confident, driven, optimistic and a natural leader. Must have a great sense of humor. Should have a Midwestern feel.

NATALIE: Female 13-14. A natural beauty – she is stunning, but not the “cheerleader” type. Strong and confident, but has an underlying sadness. Should have a Midwestern feel.

So, what do you think? Super 8 casting call or transparent ploy by Brett Ratner to find some new chill, fun-loving playdates? Either way, it’s time to shave and put on my Dorf costume. This could be my big break!!

Have you ever wanted to see the filming of a major motion picture firsthand? Would you like a grown man to scream swears and insults at you through a megaphone?? Do you like box lunches??? Then today could very well be your lucky day.

Dreamworks is looking for background talent in the Los Angeles area for Transformers 3 and they’re doing so through Craigslist. And before you knock the legitimacy of the posting, I’ll have you know that Craigslist is great. It’s how I found my apartment and my trademark cold sores.

The ad doesn’t mention which day or days shooting will take place but it does pay $200. Applicants will be selected on a breast-by-breast basis. Check out the ad HERE. (via Collider)

THE GAME IS IN THE RUNNING TO PLAY B.A. BARACUS

Former G-Unit rapper The Game may be ready to join the A-Team according to this article from ComingSoon. The Joe Carnahan-directed reboot has yet to find it’s B.A. Baracus with a number of names having been thrown into the ring so far. Common, Ice Cube, and "Rampage" Jackson have all come up in casting discussions. The Game is my favorite of these options. I feel like he could really bring to the screen the intimidating please-don’t-kill-me vibe that this role needs (a lot more than Common anyway).

But let’s face the fact that no one will be able to fill Mr. T’s shoes. Therefore they should just cast the man himself. He’d be willing to do it. Heck, he was willing to be in this picture.

We’re so happy together, you guys!
