Alec Baldwin Is Also Getting Mixed-Up In This NBC Late-Night Business

Exactly how, though, is unclear. Initially, there were rumors that Baldwin was going to slide into the not-so-coveted 1:35 AM slot amid the shifting with the Fallons and the Seth Meyerseseses of the world, but someone was overlooked in this whole mess.

Poor Carson Daly, who has maintained the 1:35 AM slot for a while now, but is easy to overlook because no one watches or remembers that his show is on the air. Well, as it turns out, NBC did finally remember him, probably after one of the execs was showering following the development meeting and simply epiphanied, “CARSON DALY!”

So Alec won’t be getting a show on NBC just yet, which may disappoint his legion of podcast fans, but it will probably happen, if only because it’s NBC, and this whole mix-up process will start itself over in a year or so.

I mean, I guess it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, considering Carson Daly is almost 39 years old, but you’d think that he’d be a corporate man, towing the company line, even long after he’s left the network.

No such luck. Carson is more autonomous than it seems, according to a recent interview with Vulture. In it, he reveals, “No. I’ve never seen Jersey Shore. That’s not to knock it, it’s just not what I watch.”

It’s ok, Carson. You can knock it. We do all the time here at Screen Junkies, and our traffic has been trending upward something fierce.

In the interview, Carson also revealed that he had a revelation at Scores strip club with Lars Ulrich and Kid Rock, packs a flask when he has to do red carpet events, and works enough gigs to make Seacrest blush. (Besides The Voice, Daly does a four-hour radio show and his late-night show Last Call.)

But the big takeaway here is that he hates Jersey Shore as much as everyone else does.

It was only a matter of time until the ruthless dictator made his opinion of The Tonight Show controversy known. He’s clearly on Team O’Brien, and is infuriated that NBC ruined his vacation to sunny Southern California. It was going to be suck a nice weekend for Hitler in Los Angeles. He was so looking forward to sitting in The Tonight Show audience and giggling joyfully at Conan’s floppy red hair. And now NEIN!
