The upcoming remake of Total Recall from director Len Wiseman has added another name to its cast: John Cho, alias Harold of Harold & Kumar. He’ll be playing “McClane, the smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Colin Farrell’s Douglas Quaid to implant fantastic memories into his brain.”

That makes sense – I would definitely sign up for a potentially dangerous memory implantation if John Cho talked me into it. He’s joining Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, and Ethan Hawke in the movie – or maybe he just THINKS he is. No, he is. In talks to play Kuato, the prophesied hero of the story, is Bill Nighy. I’m sure John Cho would be able to talk him into it. (Entertainment Weekly)

In case you didn’t totally recall (I think you’ll appreciate this pun once you read further), Jessical Biel and Kate Beckinsale were both in talks to join Len Wiseman‘s remake of Total Recall (eh?) for Columbia. Those talks have turned into representatives, executives and lawyers making agreements, so Beckinsale and Biel will indeed contribute to Colin Farrell‘s mind warping in the upcoming reboot.

Meanwhile, Quatto is in the house. Or rather, in the chest. Actor Bill Nighy is likely to play the mutant resistance leader. At least, I hope he’ll remain a mutant living inside another guy. This new version sadly dumps Mars for countries called Euromerica and New Shanghai. If the producers think going to Mars is too goofy, then how much of a chance does dude-popping-out-of-another-dude have?

‘Jack The Giant Killer’ Demands You Kneel Before Ian McShane

Actor Ian McShane will play Blackbeard the Skull-Loving Pirate in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. He’ll then jump across that thin blue line of law-abidingness and play a king in director Bryan Singer‘s ginormous fairy tale adaptation Jack The Giant Killer for New Line.

McShane plays a disapproving dad king, which I imagine will be exactly like his role in Hot Rod, only kinglier. As King Brahmwell, he will hate-on farm boy Jack (Nicholas Hoult), who’s trying to get into the royal panties of his princess daughter (Eleanor Tomlinson). Hopefully, McShane’s scepter doubles as a shotgun.

The kickass cast also includes Ewan McGregor, John Kassir, Bill Nighy and Stanley Tucci as the villainous royal advisor. (Hollywood Reporter)

Actors Willingly Join ‘Wrath Of The Titans’

News today is that actors are willingly joining Wrath Of The Titans. Good ones too! What’s up with that?

The Bourne Ultimatum‘s Edgar Ramirez and Prince Of Persia‘s Toby Kebbell are in advanced talks to join the unnecessary sequel. Kebbell will play Poseidon’s son, Agenor. Ramirez’s role is unspecified, so let’s just make up a name that sounds mythological. He will play Percertorious. Yeah. I like the sound of that.

Also, considering dressing up in stupid wardrobe for the project is the awesome Bill Nighy, Hayley Atwell, and Clemence Poesy. If they can act with a straight face, they’re shoe-ins. (Deadline and The Wrap)

‘The Hobbit’ Cast: Peter Jackson Confirms Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis Announcement Expected

It’s good to know that some forward momentum is being made on The Hobbit despite the labor disputes that are tripping up the film’s location. The first round of casting has been announced and you’re going to be psyched. But only if you’re knowledgeable about British television. Here’s who we got so far:

Martin Freeman (UK "The Office") as Bilbo Baggins
Richard Armitage ("Spooks") as Thorin Oakenshield, Dwarf leader
Aidan Turner ("Being Human") as Kili
Rob Kazinsky ("EastEnders") as Fili
Graham McTavish (Secretariat) as Dwalin
John Callen ("Power Rangers Jungle Fury") as Oin
Stephen Hunter ("All Saints") as Bombur
Mark Hadlow (King Kong) as Dori
Peter Hambleton ("The Strip") as Gloin

Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis have not been confirmed to return, but that announcement is expected. Stephen Fry, Saoirse Ronan, Bill Nighy, James Nesbitt, and David Tennant are all also rumored to be up for parts. But I think the biggest news to come out of this is that there’s a show called "Power Rangers Jungle Fury" and it actually lead to someone getting more work. (Deadline)
