Cinemax, which recently got into producing original programming that isn’t softcore porn, is prepping what could possibly be the coolest sounding Amish series ever. Alan Ball of True Blood and Six Feet Under fame is attached as executive producer. According to the LATimes, Banshee, written by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, is “set in a small town in Pennsylvania Amish Country and features an enigmatic ex-con/martial arts expert posing as a murdered sheriff who imposes his own brand of justice while also cooking up plans that serve his own interests.”

Buuuuuuuuuuuuh? How does one pose as a murdered sheriff? Is there a supernatural element to this show? Can you be so badass that you’re both an ex-con AND a martial arts expert? And most importantly, does Chuck Norris have an offer on the table? And here I thought Witness and Kingpin did all that could be done with Amish Country. You’ve proved me wrong again, Brother Ball.
