The To-Do List stars Aubrey Plaza as a 30-year old recent high school grad who wants to become sexually experienced before going off to have college sex. Enter, cast members of NBC comedies. Because if there’s anyone that knows how to please a girl, it’s awkward guys who’ve had to depend on humor and Muppet impressions to become accepted by society.

No, it’s not because Jeff Garlin and Mary Lynn Rajskub have become so incredibly famous that fans might mob them at a Starbucks or something. It’s because they joined the internet meme turned movie Safety Not Guaranteed.

Also starring Aubrey Plaza and Kristen Bell, Safety Not Guaranteed is the kinda true story of a man looking for a partner to time travel with, and the three magazine staffers sent to investigate his classified ad. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a script by Derek Connolly. No word on who Rajskub and Garlin will play, though if I had to take a guess… a socially awkward computer worker and a fat guy who gets yelled at by his wife. Just going with my gut.

Fanboy Fave Aubrey Plaza Signs Up For Film About Time-Travel Meme

Aubrey Plaza, not one to be pigeonholed, will be starring in a movie without “Hand Job” in the title. She, Jake Johnson, and Mark Duplass fill out the leading cast of Safety Not Guaranteed, a film based on a classified ad-turned internet meme in which a man (presumably serious) solicited a time-travel companion with the caveat that the companion’s safety would not be guaranteed during the journey.

Johnson describes the premise as such in this correspondence with Playlist:

“It’s the story of my character who is a writer for a magazine in Seattle that decides go….and get an interview with this guy and make fun of him a little bit. And I bring one of my interns, whose Aubrey, and it’s kind of her story, meeting this guy and this guy’s effect on us and it turns into its own little world,” Johnson explained. “And Mark plays the guy the guy from the classified ad.”

Thankfully, Johnson is an actor and not the screenwriter.

The film is written and directed by Colin Tervorrow and begins production next month. Next step: interview the actual time-traveller next week and ask him if the movie is any good or not.

Bill Hader Says Every Comedy Actor You Love Will Be In ‘The Hand Job’

SNL’s Bill Hader sure knows the kinds of names to drop to make comedy nerds drool. He is reporting that a slew of up and coming (as well as already here) comedians are slated to appear in The Hand Job, the 2009 Black List script his wife Maggie Carey wrote. The film is slated to star”Parks And Recreation” actress Aubrey Plaza as a 17 year-old girl trying to experiment sexually before going off to college. According to Hader, the film, should it receive the necessary funding, will be directed by Carey, and will star he, Andy Samberg, Donald Glover, Connie Britton, Alia Shawkat, Mae Whitman, and Johnny Simmons. That’s a veritable murderer’s row of comedic talent, AND the mom from”Friday Night Lights!” Let’s just hope the stars align so that these busy and talented people can synch their schedules, and that the funding for this comes though. ‘FUNNY PEOPLE’ ACTRESS AUBREY PLAZA

Judd Apatow has a knack for finding women that manage to be very funny and incredibly hot at the same time for his movies. For Funny People, he has found Aubrey Plaza, and up and coming actress and comedian who plays Seth Rogen’s love interest in the film. She also stars on the small screen in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. As a small side note, her Sarah Silverman impression is dead on.

A word from Aubrey: “Wilmington is pretty small. There wasn’t a ton to do there, but it definitely made me more creative because I had to kind of find my own thing to do, which is why I started making weird, funny videos.”
