Our fears that Alice Eve would never land another movie role again have been waylaid. She’s actually starring in the confined space thriller ATM. Originally, it was reported that Adventureland‘s Margarita Levieva was playing the role but now that appears to have been misinformation. Either that or Margarita suffers from claustrophobia, or co-star Josh Peck. Sounds plausible. He was a child actor after all.

ATM is filming now in Winnipeg with David Brooks directing from a script by Buried‘s Chris Sparling. ATM‘s plot came to be when Buried producer Peter Safran essentially asked Sparling, "Hey. Wanna milk this contained thriller sh*t?" Sparling’s response, of course, was a resounding "F**k yeah!" (via The Playlist)

Margarita Levieva (hot Lisa P. from Adventureland) and two dudes (Brian Geraghty, Josh Peck) have signed on to star in the ATM thriller ATM. Chris Sparling (Buried) wrote the script and David Brooks is directing. The film centers on "three co-workers who make a late-night visit to an ATM and end up in a desperate fight for their lives when they become trapped by at unknown man."

The whole horrific night comes about when the three co-workers stop for some late night pizza after a company Christmas party. They need cash to pay for the slices and end up getting stuck in an ATM vestibule for ninety minutes with a hooded mad man standing between them and their car. Of course, their cellphones are either back in the vehicle or out of battery. Clearly this film is a cautionary tale for anyone craving a midnight snack. It’s not worth the risk. Or the caloriiiiiiies! (THR)

Chris Sparling attracted a lot of buzz with his script for Buried. After landing on the Black List, the film wooed Ryan Reynolds and was screened at Sundance to rave reviews. Lionsgate quickly bought the film and plan to distribute. Now, the screenwriter has parlayed that success into the sale of another script to the Safran Co. and Gold Circle Films. Newcomer David Brooks will direct.

ATM is an action script that doesn’t center around licking someone’s butt. Actually it’s about three co-workers who — on a routine stop at an ATM — unexpectedly end up in a desperate fight for their lives. I’m assuming this means they get held up or car-jacked. But I’m hoping it’s a story about a guy’s necktie getting caught in a killer, man-eating ATM.
