The Flight Attendant

The first Archer conquest we see is an unnamed flight attendant who appears in the show’s pilot episode. She wakes up in Archer’s apartment with a bruise on her ass shaped like a ping-pong paddle. Because that’s the kind of thing Archer is into.

Cheryl Tunt

The gossipy office secretary at ISIS, Tunt is the frequent (and willing) target of Archer’s romantic advances. She possesses a strong affinity for bizarre sexual fetishes, as well as a complete lack of intelligence.

Cranston will play an astronaut in this year’s two-part season finale. His character will fight to quell a mutiny aboard a space platform. I’m not really sure what a space platform is, though. Kind of like a diving board, but you jump into oblivion due to the lack of gravity? Maybe? I’m probably right. (Huffington Post)

At any rate, I’ll cut to the chase. Here are five promos for season 3, each more hilarious than the next. If you’re on the fence about watching them, please keep in mind that Pam makes a reference to her offensive vaginal odors. You simply don’t want to miss something like that.

Sorry. I made that really confusing. Let’s simplify.

FX has announced that the third season of Justified will premiere Tuesday, January 17th, while the third season of Archer will premiere Thursday, January 19th. The Archer premiere will be followed by the debut of Unsupervised, a comedy from the producers of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I bet that last paragraph reads like pornography to fans of FX original programming.

Sadly, no details were given about the premieres themselves, but considering they’re only about six weeks away, expect teasers, trailers, interviews, and a whole mess of other marketing stuff to fill us in shortly.

For those not familiar with the show, Sterling Archer, the show’s protagonist, is completely obsessed with Burt Reynolds, aping him in terms of ego and “cool”ness. On the show, Reynolds will be courting Archer’s mother, Mallory. The press release doesn’t divulge a whole lot more than that, but perhaps you could anticipate some conflict and humorous exchanges?

Archer’s third season will kick off in January on FX, allowing those unfamiliar plenty of time to bask in the rapid-fire snark of the first two season. I wouldn’t recommend going in cold, newbies. It’s just too much to handle.

Showtime is bringing “http://www.screenjunkies.com/?p=204679 Suit up, grab your weapons and check yourself for breast cancer. “Archer” officially got picked up for a third season. FX President John Landgraf recently announced a 16 episode order for the animated series starring H. Jon Benjamin, who between this and “Bob’s Burgers” is fast becoming the official voice of grown-up animation. I have no problem with this. In fact, give him a couple more shows.

One bit of strangeness: three of the half-hours will air after new “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” episodes. The pairing makes sense comedically, but wh break up the season like that? It’d be like breaking up Lana and Archer in the middle of a mission. Actually, breaking those two up would be a good idea, so that’s a bad analogy, but you know what I’m saying.

FX also announced the pickup of a new series called “Townies” by writers Scott Marder, Rob Rosell and David Hornsby (“It’s Always Sunny”). It’s about two 15-year-old BFFs who are raising themselves without parental supervision. So… party at those kids’ house. (Deadline)

I’d be thrilled to hear that “Archer” is getting a multi-year renewal, but for now I’m happy with the news that it’s even getting one more season. Good comedies have a way of getting canceled before their time, so we should all feel fortunate. (via Vulture)
