The outing will be directed by Chris Miller, who cut his teeth on Shrek the Third. This film will find Mr. Boots saving the world from some outlaws that have unlocked a special power or something. It’s not really important. What is important is all the adorable stuff this brave warrior does, like lap up cream and chase light projections on the ground. It all harkens back to the duality of man, er, cats.

Anyway, these photos are going to be hauled away to Boredom Jail for being too interesting any time soon, but they do give you some idea of what the movie will look like, at least in its more subdued scenes. And there’s a shot of Almodovar behind the camera, looking a little like David Lynch. Yeah, I’m the guy at parties who’s always talking about which directors look like one another. (The Playlist)

The movie stars Antonio Banderas, a long way from Puss-in-Boots or the Nasonex bee. From what I can gather, he’s created some kind of humanoid creature who tries to escape, first through the door and then by threatening to commit suicide. Bring the kids!

In The Big Bang, he plays a private investigator hired by a giant to find his missing stripper girlfriend, Sienna Guillory, and the $30 million worth of diamonds she’s carrying. Along the way he encounters danger, Snoop Dogg on a porn set, James Van Der Beek, Autumn Reeser‘s horny waitress, and Sam Elliott as a gazillionaire visionary trying to re-create the Big Bang beneath the desert.

Sounds all well and good, but just show more of the stripper, guys. Seriously.

Antonio Banderas is stepping behind the camera once again. With the films Crazy In Alabama and Summer Rain already on his directorial resume, he’ll put his smoldering eye to the viewfinder of a sci-fi thriller. The film is called Solo, in which he will also star as a Spanish colonel who is suffering from post-traumatic stress. We’re not sure how the sci-fi element comes into play. Perhaps it’s aliens. Or robots. Or robot-aliens. Or sinus-suffering anthropomorphic bees. Or perhaps it’s weaponized Mario Van Peebleses.

Oh man, Woody Allen is really Woody Allening it up in the trailer for You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. The film stars Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Freida Pinto, Antonio Banderas, Lucy Punch, and Gemma Jones all unhappily shuffling through life, falling in and out of love, as an omniscient narrator delivers the subtext.

It could be a sequel to Vicky Christina Barcelona with the unfortunate absence of Scarlett Johansson‘s pouty lips. Allen even managed to make Brolin a schlubby writer with self-esteem issues. Put down that hammer, Woody, you’re breaking too much new ground!
