How would you like to play video games with Will Ferrell and put cancer flat on its ass at the same time? The comedian is teaming up with Amazon‘s game streaming service Twitch for a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo with hopes of raising $375,000 for Cancer for College and DonateGames.org. Even though he totally owns that much money and could probably just give it to them.

If you’d like to enter for the chance to square off against the star in Will Ferrell’s SuperMegaBlastMax Gamer Challenge, donate a minimum of $10. The winner of the sweepstakes will play video games with Ferrell for two hours on Oct. 26 in San Francisco, which will be broadcast live on Twitch. There’s a wide array of other incentives for those who would like to donate. Besides entry into the contest, a $10 donation comes with a $5 Amazon gaming credit; $25 will get you 1 month of Twitch Turbo. Donations of $50 and up will receive Will Ferrell’s SuperMegaUVBlastMax: Gamer’s Sunscreen or a SuperMegaBlastMax Event T-Shirt. For $500, you get an autographed cowbell and $1,500 you’ll get a video message from Ferrell, while a $5,000 donation will fund a college scholarship for a cancer survivor which is arguably way less cool than the cowbell.

Those hipsters just can’t get enough of offbeat comic Michael Strahan, tracing his roots back to the underground Brooklyn world of Subway and Campbell’s Chunky Soup commercials. It’s no surprise that this groundswell of support has resulted in the former New York Giants defensive lineman getting his own show.

Also, Jason Schwartzman is getting a show on Amazon, but let’s really focus on Michael Strahan, who won’t be starring, but will serve as executive producer of The Outlaws, a series about an pro football front office.

Schwartzman will be doing something with Roman Coppola, entitled Mozart in the Jungle. It will be about sex, drugs, and classical music. Yay?

Still…more Strahan, even in an executive producer role, is giving the people EXACTLY what they want.

The Zombieland series is dead on arrival. Creator Rhett Reese took to Twitter last night to report the news that the terrible pilot inspired by the movie would not be picked up by Amazon after all. He tweets, “I’ll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence.”

The cheap-o version of the not particularly enjoyable movie was posted on Amazon with a few other pilots in the first wave of the company’s experiments with original programming. It was the highest profile pilot released but thanks to an absence of quality and an abundance of negative feedback, the series will not be moving forward. In fact, I hear the cast will never work again. Even the ones who hid their faces behind heavy amounts of zombie makeup.

What’s most impressive is how quickly and well this system worked. You have to hate something sooo hard to make it no longer exist. So good job! Now let’s get to work on making the movie version disappear too. Hate until it hurts! (CHUD)

Eli Roth has found his people. With his next film, the cannibalism movie The Green Inferno, gearing up to shoot in a remote Amazon village, Roth was surprised to find out that the 200 extras he’d casted from the village had never seen a motion picture before. It was then that he decided to introduce them to the compelling world of cinema.

“So we brought a generator and set up a television. I thought they were going to show them E.T. or The Wizard of Oz, but they showed them Cannibal Holocaust to see how much they could handle.”

Did it freak them out?

“The villagers thought it was the funniest thing they’d ever seen.”

Roth was later boiled in a large cauldron. They even made him peel the carrots. (Movieline)
