"Lost" director/executive producer Jack Bender has joined "Alphas," a new original series on Syfy. As with "Lost," he will serve as both director and executive producer.

According to Variety, "Alphas" follows a group of ordinary people with extraordinary powers who fight crime as they come to terms with their abilities. Basically, it’s "Heroes," but with an important twist: it’s on Syfy instead of NBC.

Shooting for "Alphas" begins this Summer in Toronto, the land where TV magic is made.
