Poor Carson Daly, who has maintained the 1:35 AM slot for a while now, but is easy to overlook because no one watches or remembers that his show is on the air. Well, as it turns out, NBC did finally remember him, probably after one of the execs was showering following the development meeting and simply epiphanied, “CARSON DALY!”

So Alec won’t be getting a show on NBC just yet, which may disappoint his legion of podcast fans, but it will probably happen, if only because it’s NBC, and this whole mix-up process will start itself over in a year or so.

Baldwin allegedly grabbed a female reporter by the arm and wished death upon her before making racist comments to her photographer.

Baldwin was asked for comment on a lawsuit against his wife, Hilaria, involving her work as a yoga instructor.
(He) grabbed the reporter, Tara Palmeri, by her arm and told her, “I want you to choke to death,” Palmeri told police, for whom she played an audiotape of the conversation.
He then called G.N. Miller — a decorated retired detective with the NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau and a staff photographer for The Post — a “coon, a drug dealer.’’
At one point, Miller showed Baldwin ID to prove he’s a retired NYPD cop, which Baldwin dismissed as “fake.”
Cops were called, and Miller, 56, and Baldwin, 54, both filed harassment claims against each other.

Of course, many are shocked by this nasty behavior. When asked for comment, former 30 Rock co-star Judah Friedlander said, “Holy shit. The show’s over. Who’s going to pay me to wear baseball hats now?”

Other notable standouts are Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Malin Akerman. Cruise because he nails the bored rock star part, Zeta-Jones because she chews the scenery as an uptight conservative protestor and Malin Akerman because you almost see her boobs.

However, a big drawback to being famous is that you can’t always do only what you want all of the time. Like on flights. They expect you to follow the rules to which every other passenger must adhere. If you don’t, you get kicked off the flight like some kind of minority. Total bullsh*t!

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin was rudely interrupted by an American Airlines flight attendant who had the nerve to try to attend to the flight. Baldwin was caught up in a tense “Words with Friends” game at the time and simply could not put down his video game. After throwing a tantrum in the bathroom, he was removed from the flight, causing major delays for the other passengers. The nerve of some people. What’s really important here is that Alec Baldwin did not suffer an embarrassing “Words with Friends” defeat at the hands of Steve Martin.

Leisha Hailey

The L Word actress was kicked off a Southwest flight when other travelers complained about her kissing her girlfriend. Hailey claims she was discriminated against because she was kissing a member of the same sex. But Southwest maintains the decision was made because the kissing had gotten to be excessive. It’s hard to choose a side on this. I’m going to need to review the tape in private for about ten minutes before I can make my ruling.

What he said was stupid and there’s no justification for it, I’m just saying I don’t think it came from any real thought really.”

The subsequent Tracy Morgan controversy, about a routine on the mentally challenged, made less waves. “I think that’s from his act from 15 years ago. It was in his HBO special. When you scrutinize anybody’s comedy, it’s not the criteria you should really judge it by. He’s not being taught in schools.”

They give him that extra bit of confidence throughout the day.

Alec Baldwin had already been cast, and an announcement today indicates that Woody is going back to his stable of regulars, including the likes of himself, Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page. Co-stars include Antonio Albanese, Fabio Armiliata, Alessandra Mastronardi, Ornella Muti, Flavio Parenti, Alison Pill, Riccardo Scamarcio and Alessandro Tiberi.

The film shoots in Rome next month. How do you say “nebbish” in Italian? Oh. That’s right. Meschino.

When I first heard the news that Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were reuniting from The Other Guys to play opposing amateur football coaches in Turkey Bowl, I was mildly excited. Now my mild excitement continues, with the news that Wahlberg’s The Departed compatriot Alec Baldwin has signed on to play Wahlberg’s father.

This goes along with the idea that maybe-director (he’s not attached of yet, but he’s “reserve[d] that right”) Adam McKay wants Turkey Bowl stuffed with celebrity cameos. He also is reportedly trying to get Jeremy Renner and Rob Riggle, with presumably many others as well. Here’s an incredibly long and in-depth plot synopsis, straight from McKay’s mouth:

“”It’s about these two rival families from — we’re thinking Philadelphia but we need to check in with Wahlberg and Ferrell and see what kind of accents they want to do. Alec Baldwin is the patriarch of one of the families, and Wahlberg is his son. He saw the Kennedys playing football on their front lawn at Thanksgiving, and boom, that’s it: “Anything the Kennedys do, we’re doing.” His family starts playing the other family that lives across the park from them. Over the years, Baldwin’s family hasn’t done too well — they own a crappy little bar in town — while the other family, which Will’s character eventually becomes the patriarch of, becomes really successful. The game gets nastier and nastier as the years go on, and Ferrell’s family starts just destroying the other family. After a massive heart attack, Baldwin’s character’s dying wish is that his estranged son, Mark, take over the game and finally win one. So Wahlberg has to put this ramshackle, convict, gambling-addict family back together again and beat the richies. The whole spirit of it is that it’s just a giant, fun ensemble comedy. We want to populate it with people we love. Well jeez, Mr. McKay, do we even have to see the movie now? Better be some good cameos, that’s all I’m saying. (Entertainment Weekly)

Adam Shankman, director of Rock of Ages, has been shamelessly bilking Hollywood star after Hollywood star into appearing in his movie. Now, finally, it appears that at least one person has broken free of his seductive grasp – star of”30 Rock” and those ads for Hulu, Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin has dropped out after being confirmed by Shankman back in March. He was supposed to play “Dennis Dupree, the owner of the Bourbon Room, the Sunset Boulevard nightclub at the center of the movie.” I guess now they’ll have to get Stephen Baldwin to do it instead?

Some of the other actors not as savvy as Alec Baldwin include Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston, and Mary J. Blige. Well, you know what they say – never give a sucker an eve break or smarten up a chump. (The Hollywood Reporter)

This is the same movie that also stars Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, and Roberto Benigni, so the chance of laffs are high, I’d say. For those keeping track, this will be Woody Allen‘s first appearance on camera since 2006′s Scoop, which I, and I alone, liked.

Liz Lemon is visiting Dr. Spaceman to treat some stress-related cold sores. He assures her that there’s nothing to be embarrassed about (he gets them from hookers all the time) and offers her some R&R (Rum and Ritalin) for the stress. However, Liz only wants to treat the cold sores. She feels her stress is under control now that she’s booked a house in the Hamptons for the summe break.

Meanwhile, the others are making their summer plans. Jack is trying to figure out what to do with himself now that his wife has been kidnapped by North Koreans, the writers are engaged in a final melee battle on their PlayStation, and Jenna is about to land a big advertising deal with the Wool Council, who she impressed with a previous performance at the Wool Bowl.

Liz pays a fine she owes to the city for a hate crime she committed against a Jewish tree, and then heads for the Hamptons. Once there, all is going according to plan, until Tracy shows up and reveals that he’s purchased the homes around Liz’s guest house and is treating it like his own private playground.

Tired from a long day of golf, Tracy decides to take a nap on Liz’s porch. He has to rest up for his big night of firing guns into the air. Before he nods off, he mentions that he and Liz will be seeing each other a lot over the summer. He also warns her that he tends to scream in his sleep, but that she should not wake him no matter what, or he will attack.

Back in New York, Jenna is about to finalize her deal with the Wool Council, when the subject of her personal life brings the meeting to a halt. They are concerned that her cross-dressing boyfriend will sully wool’s conservative image. But after a stirring song, the head of the council agrees to give Paul a chance, and sets up a double date with Jenna.

Meanwhile, Jack is copping with the loss of his wife by replacing her with Kenneth. What starts as a simple act of kindness turns into an obsession when Jack forces him, the hapless page, to come over for dinner night after night. Jack’s assistant, Jonathan, ends up getting stuck with Kenneth’s duties, and is forced to call in his family for help.

Later, Liz confronts Tracy about his behavior, and tells him that she doesn’t want him to ruin her relaxing summer. But when Tracy threatens to cause trouble on set next season, Liz is forced to back down.

Jenna and Paul are hosting the president of the Wool Council and his wife. Although it is hard for Paul to hide who he is, the meal is going well. But when Jenna’s “sitter” shows up (a dwarf the couple pays to sit on them) he is forced to pretend that sexual fetishes disgust him.

Kenneth is having problems of his own, as Jack is now forcing him to completely take on the role of his missing wife.

After being forced to sleep over, Kenneth draws the line, and while impersonating Jack’s wife, tells him to stop feeling sorry for himself and move on. The speech snaps Jack back to reality, and Kenneth is free to go.

After the dinner with the Wool Council president, Jenna and Paul decide that they must be true to themselves. At the photo shoot, they publicly make out while dressed in drag, Wool Council be damned.

After much deliberation, Liz has a revelation, and decides not to pay her ticket for the hate crime, which results in mandatory community service. She finds the work relaxing, and is even picking up Spanish from some of her fellow trash pickers. Jack happens upon her in the park, just as Jenna and Paul are out for a walk. Tracy, who hit a golf ball onto the back of a truck and refuses to take a mulligan, is also passing through the park as he plays his way back to the Hamptons.

The group stops to admire Jack’s baby, while Kenneth watches from afar via telescope. In a “Lost”-like ending, he screams to an unseen “Jacob” that he “needs more time.” With that, the story ends, to be continued in season six.

What did you think of the way things ended? Is the show still going strong, or has the quality started to drop off?

More specifically, he’s husband to the Anita Bryant/Tipper Gore-type played by Catherine Zeta-Jones who wants to ban all rock and roll. Oh no! Will rock and roll be able to survive this cultural onslaught? How about rock or roll, separately? I think rock has a bit more vigor than roll does – I hope roll pulls through OK. I’m sure they’ll both be OK – this is America, after all.  (Deadline)

An animated version of”30 Rock” is making me wonder about other TV possibilities – a cartoon short based on”Boardwalk Empire,” perhaps. Or maybe a live-action “Archer.” These are all great ideas, I hope I get paid when they happen. (Vulture)

Baldwin already knocked out step 1 in 1990′s Alice, so he’s on to step 2. Step 2: If you run out of real movies to act in, get in another Woody Allen movie. It doesn’t matter which one. They’re all pretty much the same.

And that’s where we find ourselves today. Baldwin has attached himself to Allen’s next untitled film, which is rumored to star The Social Network‘s Jesse Eisenberg. Producers – plan the hoodie budget line item accordingly.

Allen has forgone shooting in NYC in his latest pictures not just due to monetary concerns, but also because he has found that the change in scenery has nurtured his creative process. But apparently not enough to stop casting Scarlett Johansson in his movies. (Deadline)

Alec Baldwin dropped a bomb last night that is sure to upset “30 Rock” fans. His brother Stephen was an excellent dancer back in high school. Oh yeah, also next season of “30 Rock” will be the show’s last.

“I will tell you one thing,” he told Vulture. “And that is our show next year is our last year of the show. Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great.”

If true, that’s sad to hear. You guys go cry and work on your Tracy Jordan requiems while I go figure out just who the hell Elaine May was.

Boneta plays a young, wide-eyed traveler to Los Angeles named Drew who dreams of “making it” as a rock star. Yeah, we’re gonna make it. Make our dreams come true in LA. Yeah. Of course, Drew becomes a bus boy, which seems like less of a “dream” and more of a sad reality. Hopefully that’s addressed with the inclusion of the beloved Foreigner b-side “Seems Like Less of a Dream, More of a Sad Reality (Megan’s Song).”

Russell Brand, who is in every other movie these days, has also officially joined the cast. So does that mean James Franco will be wedged in there somehow too? Don’t stop believin’, you guys.

Adam Shankman is directing Rock of Ages for New Line. (Deadline)

Co-written by the awesomely-named Huck Botko and the normally-named Emily Wachtel, the story follows a rock journalist assigned to track down her ex-boyfriend. Botko is also on directing duties and Joanne Woodward is attached to executive produce in lieu on Paul Newman. Botko’s previous works The Last Exorcism and The Virginity Hit didn’t really catch on with audiences. I guess that’s why Kate Hudson isn’t attached to this. It’s clearly a Kate Hudson plot, yet no Kate Hudson. (Variety)

The studio had a plan to reboot Tom Clancy hero Jack Ryan in an origin story film helmed by Jack Bender (“Lost”), with Pine as the lead, a part that’s been portrayed by Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin – good company. Rather than adapt one of Clancy’s many novels, the studio wants someone to rewrite a spec screenplay that had nothing to do with Jack Ryan. The new plot involves young Jack Ryan escaping a deadly helicopter crash. Sounds helicopter-y, and by working the name “Jack Ryan” in there, serious cashola can be acquired by audiences who hate new things.

Many writers are being interviewed, and many more have already banged the script and were kicked out of script’s bed the next morning. Steve Zaillian (Clear and Present Danger) made a deal to do the job last month, but he backed out. Unfortunately for lovers of helicopter destruction cinema, without a solid script, production won’t move forward.

So even though Paramount was trying hard to get this project off the ground before Pine starred as Captain Kirk in the next Star Trek, it looks like the Enterprise is traveling a whole lo faster than the Red October, even though J.J. Abrams hasn’t officially signed on to direct the sequel yet. Paramount hopes that little detail won’t stop them from shooting this Fall and hitting their June 29, 2012 release date.

Baldwin had signed on to play the MiB boss back in 1969 but now schedule conflicts will prevent him from playing the straight man opposite coffee-drinking worms. “I’m not doing that. I’m out of it; the schedule didn’t work out,” he said.

Baldwin, Blige, and Hough are joining Tom Cruise and MAYBE Anne Hathaway and Russell Brand, who haven’t signed on yet but are rumored to be attached to the project, which is set to begin filming in May. (via The Playlist)

The film was announced over a year ago with Leo DiCaprio originally on to voice Pine’s character, but things came undone, as they often do, and Pine was there to step in. Guillermo del Toro is executive producing, which should mean that there will be a fair number of children scarred by this film until they reach early adulthood. Peter Ramsey is helming the project, which is based on the children’s books by William Joyce.

It’s rare that movie is ambitious enough to tarnish the reputations of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and, to a lesser extent, the Tooth Fairy. Aim for the stars, Dreamworks! (Variety)

An unnamed network insider has been quoted as saying, “[Baldwin is] already part of the NBC family, has a huge fan base and is very respected for his long term passions for politics.” I’ve heard time and again that Alec Baldwin is ready to retire from acting, and his outspoken passion for touchy-feely liberalism makes this job as good as his. Battling idiots like Glenn Beck on TV would be a good stepping stone to battling idiots like Sarah Palin in actual politics.

That said, I still think he should stick to selling microwaves. (PopEater)

Brand’s said to be playing the role of Lonnie, who works at the 80s club The Bourbon and apparently belts out REO Speedwagon’s Can’t Fight This Feeling. Brand, no stranger to playing rock and roll types after the one two punch on Get Him To The Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, should have no problem getting back into not only the swing of things, but also the impossibly tight leather pants.
