Comic-Con 2012: Marvel Announces ‘Ant-Man’ Happening

Marvel Studios and director Edgar Wright played a little bit of a prank on the media and fans for Comic-Con this year. In the lead-up to their panel for the upcoming Iron Man 3, director Edgar Wright posted on his Twitter account about being in London and missing Comic-Con, etc. Well it turns out this was all a smokescreen to hide the fact that ahead of the Iron Man 3 panel Marvel Studios was going to show some test footage shot for Ant-Man, with Wright in attendance.

And although there’s no casting news or a release date yet, they showed the shit out of that test footage! It’s about a minute long and showed Ant-Man at ant-size taking out two full-sized henchmen with his incredible shrinking powers. So, with this test footage, plus Marvel’s online announcement that an Ant-Man movie, which we first started hearing about in 2006, is finally coming, and it looks like it’s really happening. Comic-Con 2012 Is Going To Have A ‘Zombie Obstacle Course’

Well, you know what they say – today’s fun and games is tomorrow’s apocalyptic horror (they say that, right?). And the organizers of the upcoming 2012 San Diego Comic-Con along with the producers of AMC‘s smash hit The Walking Dead are bringing this possible expression to life, in the form of a “zombie obstacle course” for guests to enjoy.

Basically, the obstacle course will give visitors a chance to experience a zombie attack in a safe and judgment-free setting. You pay $70 to be chased by zombies through an obstacle course. Sound steep? Well, maybe you’d prefer to play as a zombie instead, where the goal is to spread the “infection” as much as possible through physical contact. No biting.

It’s not known what other obstacles will make up the obstacle course – it seems to me that any obstacle course that includes zombies doesn’t have much to worry about on the obstacle front. I mean, isn’t “zombie” pretty much the ultimate obstacle? Even without the biting?
