![]() BSG Recap: A Disquiet Follows My Soul
Season 4
If last week's episode was all about giving up, then this is about starting over. Which makes sense, as this episode was really all about setting up the endgame of the entire series. Also: more unfit fathers than an entire Joss Whedon series! There are two main questions on the table: 1) is it possible for the humans and rebel Cylons to actually form an alliance and find peace, love and happiness? 2) Roslin and Adama, can those crazy kids make it work?
At one point, Adama actually says: "Some days, I really hate this job," which was felt closer to "I sure picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue," than to the emotional impact that they were going to. I mean, this? Nothing. Remember that time when the Cylons were trying to kill them every half-hour? That's a bad day. And it lasted a week. |

January 26th, 2009 at 04:33 pm Gaeta annoys me, and this Zarek revolution thing is the same story again... what's going on with the OTHER cylons, Kavel, etc?
January 26th, 2009 at 04:34 pm I thought this episode was weak, really week. Not as good as the first one this season. Some of the acting was good, but the camera angles were all wonky, and there were so many throwaway lines. Agree with anonymous about Gaeta. The Zarek thing could turn out to be interesting though. Especially since it would essentially create a 3-way war.
January 27th, 2009 at 10:07 am Hey Anonymous, I agree that I want to see what's going on with the other Cylons (and also what will happen when Ellen re-enters the mix), but I would argue that the Gaeta-Zarek revolution is different for a couple of reasons: 1) Adama-Roslin may not give a frak this time 2) Zarek actually has a point.

Mike,
It may or may not interest you to know that this week's ep was directed by Ron Moore his own self. And after years and years of writing, it was the first one he ever directed.
January 27th, 2009 at 03:01 pm Gaeta is a whiny bitch. I can't wait for Starbuck to shoot his other leg off. Also, are they just trying to show off their FX with him dangling his leg out there and not wearing his pants over it? Or is he trying to get EVEN MORE sympathy? Or is he simply trying to pull off an LL Cool J look? I can't decide. I have faith that the final couple episodes will be AMAZING, but I'm a little bored right now. Although, the episode before this one was awesome (can I call it the season premiere?).
January 27th, 2009 at 06:09 pm I tried to rent Disc 1 of Season 1 at three different blockbusters and none of them had it. President Obama's message of hope is bullshit.

Hey Anonymous,
You're right. The fact that you can't rent the 1st season at Blockbuster is absolute and final proof that Obama's economic policies have utterly failed us, and we should be on our knees in wailing despair.
Or you could just, you know, Netflix it.
January 28th, 2009 at 06:33 pm You're so right, Jim Connelly. But I was impatient. Granted, had I gone home and Netflixed it that night, I would have had it by now. I blame the unanimous Republican vote against Obama's economic stimulus plan for my misstep.
