By this I was given to believe that you don't know the original. If you had indeed watched any of it, you would know that this movie was right in line with the original. Yes, it is campy, silly and gimmicky. It is a cartoon brought to "real". Dan Akroyd did a very good voice for Yogi and while I am not a fan for Timberlake, he had BooBoo dead on. My family, including children and adults, enjoyed the movie. By your own admission, you have no attachment to the original. By this I was given to believe that you don’t know the original.
