I will grant you that is one of the most gratuitous things I have ever seen, but that is actually part of the appeal to me. I'm actually quite tired of movies trying to be pretentious and "preachy". I don't go to the movies to learn a lesson; not about love, or self esteem, or religion, or men, or women. I go to movies to be entertained. This movie entertained me, and it was completely unapologetic about it. Drive Angry doesn't try to sell you on anything except fast cars, beautiful women, guns, explosions, and "doing what a man's gotta do". It's truly not for the faint of heart though, everything mentioned in the above article is absolutely true. There IS a naked gun fight, the woman IS little more than a prop. The naked cultists dancing around a bonfire IS trashy. Beating women ISN'T cool. All of this serves a purpose though, and that purpose is to make men say, "God, I wanna be Milton when I grow up!".
