The Criterion Collection is the mark of excellence in the DVD world, and the package they’ve put together for Ingmar Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander on Blu-ray should be pretty excellent. Features include both the theatrical and television cuts of the movie, a high-definition transfer of the making-of documentary creatively titled The Making of Fanny and Alexander, an audio commentary with fancy-pants film guy Peter Cowie, ANOTHER making of doc, costume sketches, and a stills gallery. The only person who wouldn’t be satisfied with this is Ingmar Bergman himself, but that guy hated everything.
