Will Michael Chabon’s Best Work Be The “Disneyland Rides Come To Life” Movie?

I wanna go to Disneyland. How come Michael Chabon gets to and I don’t? Oh, yeah – that guy won a Pulitzer. Damn it.

Writer Chabon (Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay) might be tapped to rewrite Magic Kingdom for Disney. The film is reportedly like Night At The Museum, except with Disney theme park rides. My “Bad Idea Senses” are tingling, but I guess if they can make it more Pirates of the Caribbean than Haunted Mansion (in other words, more fun than utterly atrocious), then maybe it’ll work.

The first pass was written by Ron MooreBattlestar Galactica“), but director Jon Favreau wants to take the film in a different direction. As long as that direction isn’t “more like Night At The Museum,” or for that matter, “more like Iron Man 2,” I’ll try and keep an open mind.

Chabon recently worked on the script for Pixar‘s first foray into live action, John Carter of Mars. (/Film)
