We’re A Few Steps Closer To Holographic Films

Tuesday, December 28 by

Clash Of The Titans-induced pink eye may be a worry of the past. Apple is developing a technology that will allow audiences to view 3D images without the aid of glasses. They’re currently working on a special screen that off-sets images in such a way that the brain converts them into 3D, similar to a hologram.

Now it’s a race to create the world’s first entirely holographic movie. Nintendo claims that their Nintendo 3DS will allow you to view glasses-free 3D versions How To Train Your Dragon, Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga’Hoole, and Tangled on their system. Which would directly contradict James Cameron when he said last month that 3D without glasses technology was eight to ten years away. We’ll have to wait and see how the technology expands. My only hope is that Stephen Dorff doesn’t blow his comeback on a movie about a detective investigating a murder committed by a hologram. Stay away from it, Dorff. No matter how much money Platinum Dunes offers. (Collider)
