‘Walking Dead’ Season 2 Won’t Arrive Until October 2011

Tuesday, November 16 by

Fans of”The Walking Dead” are about to get hit by a double whammy. With just three episodes left in the ridiculously short first season, viewers will now have to wait until next October to witness season two.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC is looking at an October launch date for two reasons. First, their 2011 schedule is already packed, with original programing like”Mad Men,””Breaking Bad” and “The Killing” all jockeying for position. Second, as proven by the success of season one, October is the ideal month to launch a horror-based series. Fearfest, “AMC’s annual horror movie marathon” acts as a built-in promotional tool, and Halloween adds to the mix.

On the plus side, director Frank Darabont is set to return. On the downside, a lot of us will be dead by time season two premieres. Sorry to be a buzz kill, but 11 months is a long time. You do the math. (THR via Dread Central)

Thats the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. “October is ideal for launching horror bases horror-series”. Uh, I’m pretty sure it’s already been LAUNCHED!

This is terrible news. I am disappointed in AMC’s decision regarding this subject. I think I will intentionally not purchase items advertized during the commercials that were shown during The Walking Dead. These companies will lose out on my business until they decide to put some pressure on AMC to continue this series. This way AMC learns the hard way that when stations screw the viewers by not giving the viewers what they want, AMC and other stations like them lose our on advertisement revenues. Good Day Sir!

I hope The Walking Dead releases sooner then October, that’ll mean less of a wait! I can’t wait for the next season, it’s an excellent series. They don’t hold anything back with the gore. But just a heads up if you have DirecTV, you won’t get to see your zombies on AMC in HD. What!? No zombies in HD next season? Good news though, with DISH Network you get AMC and zombies in HD! As a customer/employee of DISH I can’t say how happy I’ve been since I made the switch.
