McG's dreams of somehow turning Ouija into a movie have been dashed. Universal seems to have cooled on the idea of needlessly adapting board games after dropping $2 million on Battleship. Since inking the deal with Hasbro to adapt six of their properties, the studio has dropped plans to adapt "Monopoly," "Magic: The Gathering," "Clue," and have opted to pay the $5 million penalty to not move forward with Ouija. They clearly don't want to play anymore.

McG is shopping the film around town in the hopes that another studio might pick it up. Paramount, who have had hits with G.I. Joe and Transformers, have already passed. I think it's best that McG use this film to contact itself. It seems dead. (Vulture)
