Naturally, the success of The Book Of Mormon on the Broadway stage is leading to a big screen adaptation. But not so fast. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone confirmed that the film project is in the works with the show's producer Scott Rudin on board and Parker in the director's chair. “The great thing is, a lot of Broadway teams would have to go team up with a Hollywood producer and bring on a Hollywood director, but Trey’s a director and Scott’s a great producer. We’ve all made movies. So it’s kind of cool, it can stay in the same family.”

So, when can we expect to see it in theaters? Not until it's done cleaning up on stage sadly. “Hopefully it will have a big run and a big tour and then we can do the movie in several years,” says Parker.

Bummer. Soon enough just isn't soon enough. Can we get a Party Down or Arrested Development movie to tide us over in the meantime? We're asking nicely. (EW)
