Tom Hiddleston, best known for playing the so-bad-he's-good villain Loki in The Avengers and Thor, may get yet another chance to ham it up in more classic fashion. It's being reported by Deadline that he's being offered the titular Judah Ben-Hur in a remake of Ben-Hur.

The iconic original starred Charlton Heston in what was basically Fast and the Furious with slaves and chariots. Hiddleston was known as a classically-trained actor before stepping into the Loki suit, so a period piece like this seems to be a pretty great fit. The film will undoubtedly be heavy on the CGI, effects, and action, which Tom got some experience with in The Avengers.

The remake, which will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov, hits theaters February 26, 2016, with or without Hiddleston. But hopefully with.
