‘The Playboy Club’ Lasted Longer Than We Thought, Cancelled After Two Episodes

They just can't compete with streaming porn.

Well, that didn’t take long. The Playboy Club has been cancelled after two episodes and will be replaced with episodes of Prime Suspect until Brian Williams’ newsmagazine Rock Center (ugh) replaces it on Monday nights. This story keeps getting sadder and sadder for NBC, doesn’t it?

In the end, The Playboy Club has proved to be more trouble than it was worth for NBC, having caused tension from its racy content in the Mormon market of Salt Lake City, specifically, and with the uptight folks at the Parents Television Council generally. Considering the show only lasted two weeks, NBC is probably kicking themselves for forfeiting goodwill with both affiliates and lobbyists only to see their show die on the vine.

However, all is not lost. We can still look back at The Playboy Club in fondness with our gallery featuring Amber Heard and…all those other fine, fine actresses.

Enjoy it. It’s all we have left.
