They used an indian double in lord of the rings as one of the hobbits height double but just used latex and make up for him to look like the actor. It shouldn’t be a problem.

It’s not racist just because thats not the type of people they are casting for! So if they had to be fat would we make a big deal if a skinny person got turned down? What if they had to be female? These roles shouldn’t be open to everyone just for the hell of it. It most definately was not meant to be “racist”. Over sensative fools these gripers.

Yeah but Hobbit’s are white. Since when did society become so prudish, I bet you anything if they had been looking for blacks that it would have been accepted if a white man had been turned down because you know what? who gives a damn; he is white! Middle-Earth is a European based setting and putting a description on what type of people you are looking for should not be a crime.
