If a reboot isn't gritty, is it really even a reboot? Unwilling to even tempt the premise of that question, the producers of the new Fantastic Four starring Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell will just go ahead and make it gritty.

More specifically, the writer, Simon Kinberg (such a writer name, by the way) said the film will be "a more realistic, a more gritty, grounded" version of the story. So it's going to be a more realistic telling of a story that involves a man made out of rock and a woman that stretches.

But don't worry if you think it will be too serious. "It’s still fun," elaborated Kinberg. Oh thank Christ. Though it didn't capture him saying it in the HitFix interview, Kinberg also promised that it will be a favorite film of people who love animals, and those who hate animals. It might also possibly be a film that is fun for the whole family, but ESPECIALLY fun for people who, for one reason or another, have no family.

In short, the Fantastic Four is going to be everything to everyone. According to the guy who wrote the Fantastic Four.
