That Was Quick: Tarantino’s Western Script Will Be Ready In Two Months

Tuesday, March 1 by

Quentin Tarantino may take a while between projects, but once he’s decided on what he’s doing, he works quickly. /Film reports that QT will have a new script finalized in two months, with plans to shoot later on this year. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Christoph Waltz will star in the next film. Other possible inclusions may be Treat Williams (!), Keith Carradine, and Frances Nero.

The as-yet nameless script is a Western that Tarantino has wanted to create for several years, however, expect it to transcend genre convention in the same ways Inglorious Basterds and Kill Bill did. That’s about all we know to expect from this project, so as usual, prepare to be surprised.

According to Deadline, the reason for the quick turnaround here is simple: the script just wasn’t as difficult for the auteur to write. Huh. Fair enough. His last films took far longer to develop so what that means for the final product of his current effort is anyone’s guess.

Now what’s the over/under on Sam Jackson as a bad-ass vengeful slave?
