J.J. Abrams and his viral campaigns are going to leave us completely desensitized when real monsters attack. When this picture showed up on the Wildgame Innovations website last week, my theory was "albino Spider-Man" (could happen) or Michael Stipe (also could happen).

Now sources close to the production of Super 8 are claiming that it is in fact viral marketing to promote the upcoming J.J. Abrams film. There's also video online of a young girl, who was an extra on the film, describing the scene she shot where she was attacked by the creature.

Viral marketing or not, I'm not taking any chances. I'll be hiding in the woods behind the elementary school tonight with a shotgun. Anything moves, I shoot to kill. Let J.J. Abrams sort 'em out. (via i09)
