Is it any surprise that the "big buy" at this year's Sundance Film Festival is a Paul Rudd movie? The man is golden. He's been on fire for years and still hasn't squandered any goodwill yet. The Rudd-starring comedy My Idiot Brother sold to the Weinstein Company for a cool $7 million, with plans for not only a wide release, but $15 million devoted to marketing. The film co-stars Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones, and Elizabeth Banks, and it was probably pitched as"Paul Rudd with a beard and three beautiful, comically skilled actresses," a sentenced designed to elicit Pavlovian drool from executives and audiences alike.
