Statute Of Limitations Saves Elmo Actor From 3 Of 4 Accusers

Tuesday, July 2 by
Allegedly.

Kevin Clash, famed puppeteer and Elmo portrayer, won’t be tried for molesting three boys prior to their 18th birthdays, not because he didn’t do it, but because the statute of limitations ran out, allowing him to walk away from the charges.

Of course, the lawyers of the three former boys (now grown men) plan on appealing, saying that the statute of limitation provides for six years after the event allegedly took place, and should in this instance start when the boys realized they had been molested, not when it actually happened.

We’ll see how that plays out. The good (I guess) news is that Clash is still on the hook for one of his victims, and since this has very little to do with entertainment, and is just depressing, I’m going to stop here.
