‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Has Begun Filming!

Apologies if you thought this was the first set pic. I misled you.

J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot studio have taken to Twitter to let the world know that the new Star Wars started its first day of filming yesterday. And he’s got the picture to prove it:

Ok. So that might not PROVE anything, as I could get a Star Wars clacker on eBay, and it’s hardly an image of the Millennium Falcon flying over the Moroccan desert, but we’ve come to trust Mr. Abrams when it comes to big productions.

Of course, we’ve still got 18 months until the film hits theaters on December 18, 2015, but that’s hardly a tick of the clock in the grand scheme of things. If you just nap a lot, the time will fly right by.

The cast was finalized only two weeks ago, so it looks like Bad Robot and Disney wasted no time getting this thing together.

I wonder why they’re in such a hurry. Oh yeah. Millions of dollars. Billions, probably.
