You might not remember The Grudge starring Sarah Michelle Gellar because it came amongst a slew of other The _____ horror titles that all set out to see huge returns on low budgets in the late 90's- early 2000's. It's been about eleven years, so why not revisit these unspectacular properties, and get Sam Raimi behind it, too!

In the original, and presumably the reboot, the story centered on a nurse who was affected with a curse that instilled rage in her, and would ultimately prove fatal.

They guy writing the film, Jacob Buhler, is also in the middle of redoing Jacob's Ladder, so it sounds like this guy has a lot of experience tweaking properties enough that they can be re-released without people getting all up in arms.

I will say that if this is a shot-for-shot remake, and stars an older Sarah Michelle Gellar, that would be pretty funny, and I would pay to see it.
