Rosamund Pike is going from Bond girl to much more with the announcement that she will pick up the coveted role of Andromeda in the Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans. She had been rumored to be on the shortlist for the role of Ursa, but it would seem that her Titans role would take her out of the running for one of Superman's foils.

Pike faced some stiff competition for the role of Andromeda, going upa against the likes of noted Cee-Lo collaborator Gwyneth Paltrow. Alexa Davalos played Andromeda in the original Clash of the Titans, but was unavailable for the sequel, necessitating a new casting process for the starring role. Sam Worthington will reprise his role in the sequel, which is directed by Jonathan Liebesman who is wrapping Battle: Los Angeles right now.

Pike has just recently reemerged on the Hollywood radar after cutting her teeth on indie projects most recently. We should all look forward to seeing if she can bring her candid indie sensibilities to her role in the Wrath of the Titans. Just kidding. That won't happen. (Deadline)
