Remake of ‘The Swarm’ Closes In

Wednesday, November 17 by

Patrons flocked to theaters for killer piranhas, so who’s to say they wouldn’t do the same for killer bees? Producers Roy Lee and Steven Schneider sure as hell aren’t going to say such a thing. The two are currently developing a remake of the 1978 disaster movie The Swarm, a bee B-movie, if you will, and even if you won’t.

Award-winning commercial director Ash Bolland is attached to direct and a writer (formality) is expected to be hired soon. The original The Swarm was hated by both moviegoers and star Michael Caine, so there’s no where to go but up with the remake. However, it will be difficult to reach the status of other classic bee-themed films…

Cage nailed it. (TheWrap)
