If you’re reading this, congratulations. You’ve made it farther than I thought you would have. This is for you.
Barbra Streisand or “Babs,” as we like to not call her, is producing a Broadway musical called Gypsy that tells the tale of a famous stripper named Gypsy Rose Lee. And since H.R. 494 became legislation two years ago, all Broadway musicals must also be adapted to films. So the search for Gypsy Rose Lee is on, lest we get forced upon us an erotic Streisand which is arguably the worst kind of Streisand there is.
The film will be written by the guy who wrote Gosford Park and some Downton Abbey episodes, so if our readers weren’t sold on this project before, they sure as shit are now.
And in a recent interview for her upcoming road trip film with Seth Rogen, Guilt Trip, Streisand let loose that she’s considering Lady Gaga for the part. Seeing as how she’s not very attractive, sort of shrill, and beilderingly popular, it would make sense that Barbra Streisand sees a lot of herself in Gags.
