The casting of Ray Winstone as the seventh dwarf, Trajan, in Snow White and the Huntsman rounds out Dwarf Week at Universal Studios. Winstone joins Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, and Stephen Graham as the diminutive septet.

The dwarves in Huntsman don't correlate to their Disney counterparts because in this script, their identities are tied to those of Roman emperors. That way, the producers can entertain you and make you feel dumb at the same time.

It's not clear how the filmmakers will portray these slightly less-than-average-size actors as dwarves. Some suggestions:

  • Give Kristen Stewart growth hormone until she stands 14 feet tall. Build proportionately large sets. The actors will seem dwarfish by comparison.

  • Cut off the actors' legs just above the knee. They will putter around adorably like Dorf. (I'm not sure how the Screen Actors' Guild will respond to that.)

  • A green screen or CGI or something lame like that.
