The romantic comedy genre has lost its most original and refreshing voice. Nora Ephron, writer of When Harry Met Sally and director of Sleepless in Seattle, has passed away.
The 71-year old essayist and dry skin opponent was seeking treatment for acute myeloid leukemia these past few weeks. However, this condition brought on a case of pneumonia which she would not recover from. She passed in a Manhattan hospital on Tuesday night. Another patient there commented, “I won’t have what she’s having.” They were later asked to leave.
Nora Ephron will be missed for her wit, charm, and good humor. She is survived by Meg Ryan.
