The major failing of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was that it didn't have zombies. Or so goes the thinking in Hollywood.

After a few false starts that saw actresses like Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway close to signing on and directors like David O. Russell, Mike White, and Craig Gillespie in the mix, the regency-horror-comedy mashup from Seth Grahame-Smith is lurching forward with a new director and leading lady.

Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones star and the inspiration for the song "Sussudio" (unconfirmed), Lily Collins will fight off the undead and the affections of Mr. Darcy in the adaptation. Burr Steers (17 Again, Charlie St. Cloud) will direct. With Steers' involvement one has to wonder if Zac Efron will also join. Might be fun to see him get eaten. (THR)
