It would seem that the producers of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies don’t really have a “type” when it comes to their director search. David O. Russell said no, so they went with frequent writer but directing neophyte Mike White, who walked away due to a commitment to HBO, and now they’re looking at Craig Gillespie, who directed Lars and the Real Girl, as well as Showtime‘s “The United States of Tara.” However, most relevant is his most recent project, a reworking of Fright Night for DreamWorks, due out this August.
Who knows if Gillespie is the only director they’re talking to right now, as I’m sure the producers are eager to get this show on the road. If Gillespie doesn’t pan out, I give DreamWorks two more shots before either Tyler Perry or Uwe Boll get the call. Or those two could team up for the absolute strangest movie in history. (Vulture)
