Graham King is developing
Spartacus as a feature film, focusing on the rebel leader who took on the Roman Empire and less on seeing
Lucy Lawless‘s boobies. The project is based on a pitch from who else but
300 writer Michael B. Gordon.
Based on the novel by Howard Fast, the movie will deal with the
historical facts rather than the totally bullshit
Spartacus that appeared in
Stanley Kubrick‘s 1960 film and the
Starz show about boning and
CGI blood. This picture is said to focus on Spartacus leading a rebellion of 70,000 gladiators and 50,000 slaves against the Army of Rome. He didn’t really win but this material likely loans itself to slow-motion battle cries and some really good speeches. Go picture! (
