Netflix Instant Distractions Of The Week: July 28

Thursday, July 28 by

It’s Thursday, which means you’re going to need a few distractions to tide you over for the coming weekend. Well, we’ve got ‘em. Here are the best, the worst, and the weirdest of what’s new to stream instantly on Netflix.

Watch these…

…Because you want to see something good:

Sixties-era New York ad men wine, dine, and womanize all over the place. Oh and they make some advertisements, too.

_

…Because you’re bored:

Monty Python alum Terry Jones explores the lesser-known history of ancient Rome, asking the all-important question: What have the Romans ever done for us? Turns out the answer is “some pretty weird stuff.”

_

…Because you’re drunk:

When flocks of birds begin savagely attacking the people in a small town, it is up to the audience to draw parallels between this and a classic Hitchcock film.

_

…Because how could this not be awesome:

William “Crazy-Balls” Shatner hosts a long-form version of the world’s most over-the-top cooking show. Laughs will be had.

Sometimes I wonder what criteria NetFlix uses when deciding which movies/TV shows to stream. Outside of Mad Men who is watching these shows?
