Is it time to remake movies from the late 90's already? Apparently so. Producer Neal Moritz, the guy who brought us The Fast and the Furious franchise, S.W.A.T., Stealth, and other pretty dumb crap, is hard at work on a remake of Starship Troopers.

Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Edward Miller and Zack Stentz are on the script which will likely throw away the satirical essence of Paul Verhoeven's original. Though Starship Troopers isn't a treasure to be held in high regard, why do we need another go around? Surely there is another way to make marines fight giant bugs without infringing on an existing property that has been sequeled into irrelevance. (Vulture)
